I just received and assembled my Sur Ron X.High Quality Unit,it looks like Honda or Yamaha could have built it! Impressed so far for sure.

This magnet is so strong, that you better be careful putting your fingers in between that and your battery or your going crush it!!

I’m 6’1 around 225 with gear. I’m running a 21/18 wheel set and a 2 inch seat riser. The peg extenders are fantastic and really go a long way (in addition to wheels/seat height) to change the ergo’s to something closer to a full size dirt bike. I rip around single track and fire roads standing on the pegs for hours on end and these have been bomb proof.

Bike shipped out the same day I ordered it on a Friday. It was at my door in just over a week. Well packaged and everything was in great shape. It took about a hour to get everything set up to ride. Works great no issues.

Review from a complete novice...

To begin... I have never owned an E-Bike of any sort... nor do I have any experience with motorcycles of any kind in my life.

Started out online comparing different types of E-Bikes... from lower end peddle models... to some of the the higher end products like the Super73 and the Sur Ron X... watched plenty of "Top 5" review videos on You Tube... did the cost-benefit comparisons and read the reviews on the websites. When it was all said and done I chose to go with the Sur Ron X from Luna.

Reached out to them via e-mail to ask a few questions... mostly parts related... possibly swapping out for street tires because that's where I would be using it... stuff like that. Tony responded to all of my inquiries inside of the hour and was very helpful.

Maybe most importantly for some buyers... I purchased the bike online late Thursday night (7pm-ish)... and the bike was delivered to me by Fed-Ex freight the following Friday. On some other sights I was reading reviews from folks who had 2-3 month delivery times in some places... so I was expecting it to take a while... but 7 days was impressive. Fed-Ex called me 2 days out to schedule a delivery time and it all went smoothly.

It was packaged well... I didn't notice any dings or scuffs at all... and the package was very manageable even for someone who lives in an apartment like I do. The assembly was pretty easy for someone with ABSOLUTELY equipment or readiness... I did it in my apartment living room. I would recommend getting some sort of stand or jack to raise the bike up and hold it in place for putting the front wheel on... but it's do-able with odds and ends if you are resourceful.

The bike is far more substantial than I was expecting... even after watching videos online... I was expecting it to be smaller or more fragile... which it is not. I am 5'10 and weigh about 160lbs... so I am pretty slender... which obviously makes the bike seem that way to someone my size... but still... it is a solid machine... and I couldn't be happier. I have only driven it around town... so my experience on the trails and such is non existent... but it rides like a dream... and is super quiet... which I absolutely love. I haven't "cut the cord" yet either... because I am a coward... maybe a ways down the road.

I am sure there are avid bike users who will ride it and have critiques that I do not... like... "the bike needs a doohickey on the back of the thingamajig in order for me to really enjoy the ride"... that sort of thing. Fair enough... but as I said... I am a novice... and I would recommend the company and the product to anyone interested in the whole E-Bike experience!

Got it for a spare. I modified my seat so it extends onto the battery cover. When I stapled the seat cover underneath the battery cover it cracked. It is a harder plastic like polycarbonate. Be careful! It would be nice if it was polyethylene like the seat base or fenders typically are. I trimmed off the sides of the seat base a little, riveted a piece of a fender to the front to extend it a little and match the bottom line of the seat more with the battery cover. Trimmed off a little of the batt cover too to match. I had some foam from an rm125 sitting around so I shaped it to what I wanted, flatter and about 1 1/2 inches higher in the middle. Making the foam part for the batt cover was tricky. Lots of angles. Made a pattern from some material and had my neighbor sew it. I LOVE it. Distance from foot pegs to seat is now only about 1/2 in. less than my 250. Plus I can sit forward when I corner. Here are some pictures.

Nicely machined. Perfect fit. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the anodizing. It was pale and dull. I actually sanded mine and painted them with PJ1 Yamaha blue spray paint to match my fenders. I also painted the battery cover. Make sure to use white primer first. Anyway a better anodizing would be great. Like aluminum rims finish.

Great value for your buck…battery door rattles pretty bad and there is a lot of play in the forks….but aside from those issues… it’s been a lot of fun!
