Bafang BBSHD 1000W Mid Drive Kit (HIDDEN/REMOVED)
Nearly 1000 miles on the bbshd and shark battery. I love this bike, and everyone who rides is just blown away with how much fun it is. Since I’m riding a lot more now, i’m getting in better shape, and the other day I bombed up a steep downhill stretch of trail and it was awesome. It’s hard to keep the front wheel down. Definitely get the Luna chain ring as it solves my chain dropping problem completely.

Luna Alite Hard Tail
I bought my bike a few months ago. At first, I was hesitant to pull the trigger, and I researched many other ebikes. But as soon as my bike arrived and I started riding, I knew I'd made the right choice by going with Lunacycle.
First off, their support has been amazing. They answered all my questions and then some. And the bike is far better than I imagined for much less than the competitors. I've already put almost 500 miles on the bike, and I've replaced a car with it. For just about every trip around town within 10 miles, I take my bike, and I can get there as fast or often faster (because bikes are easier to park) than with a car. I usually average around 25-30 mph when commuting on the bike. But the bike can go a lot faster than that (I've had it over 40mph, although that gets a little freaky). It's silent, smooth, clean, exhilarating speed and power. Lunacycle bikes are pure magic.
Before getting this bike, I knew next to nothing about ebikes. I was immediately impressed by how intuitive and seamless the pedal assist is (the motor kicks in when you pedal). It has six different power options (0-5). When it's set to 0 or 1, you get around 350 watts of power. This is where a lot of ebikes max out. If feels like a strong wind at your back.
I usually ride with the pedal assist set to 2. This brings you up to a max of around 600-750 watts (the street legal limit). With pedaling, I easily do 25mph + on my commute. Most expensive ebikes top out at 750 watts.
Set the pedal assist to 3, 4, or 5 and you can get up to 1500 watts of power (which isn't technically street legal, but I'm not sure how anyone would find out). With this, you can go 35-40 mph on the street.
Also, there's a thumb throttle, so if you don't want to pedal, you can hit the switch and go. When set to 5, the bike will go 35-40 mph on the street. Because it's silent, it feels like flying.
Details and suggestions:
I bought one of the most basic mountain bikes from lunacycle and upgraded to the BBSHD motor for an additional $150. I highly recommend doing this. I also added a shift sensor for $50, which I'd recommend as it makes shifting under power much smoother. And I picked up a few of their Cree bike lights (which are awesome, and make riding in the dark much safer). Altogether with shipping, I paid a little less than $2000 for my setup.
I made a few upgrades to the bike after the first few weeks. First, I replaced the front fork with a Rock Shox, because when I'm going over 30mph, I want something bomb proof. The stock fork wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.
Then I replaced the stock BBSHD gear with a 42T Bling Ring. I highly recommend doing this because it's much lighter than the stock ring, and it completely solved all my chain drop issues (when you hit a bump at 30 mph, it's easy to throw your chain).
I also put a larger disc brake on the front (to give more stopping power, which might be a good idea if you're a speed freak). But I'm still using the stock brake calipers. All these changes brought the total cost of the bike and charger to around $2250.
Oh, and after about 500 miles of hard riding, I wore out the small gears on my back cassette, so I replaced that with a steel one that works better than the stock.
Lunacycle ships their bikes with a pretty decent tool kit that makes doing these changes easy.
This bike has the 48volt battery, which seems plenty to me. But if the 52volt isn't much more, and you want even more power, then go for that.
And that's it. Get the bike. It's life changing and planet saving.

CHARGERS: LUNA MINI - 48V
I purchased the BBSHD mid drive, 48V/13.5 aH battery, full twist throttle, and brake levers with motor cutoff for my first E-bike conversion. With the wealth of information and support available online and through the forum, the installation went quite easily. There was one issue with the charger I first purchased, but Luna was quite helpful problem solving. It turned out to be a bad batch of chargers and Luna was quick to replace it. Since then, I have had no issues with the setup. I love the bike and look forward to riding it every day, even now in the nasty rainy season. Commuting is much less of a drag thanks to Luna. Amazing products and wonderful service. After riding my bike, I have convinced a few friends to do a build themselves. I am already thinking about my next build!

Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brake Set for Sondors
Got a sondors in 2016 and loved it, have upgraded it with several Luna parts and each one has made for more fun! Went to a friends wedding in cherry grove and finally got to ride on the beach! You can really cover a lot more ground and see more of the beach!

Lekkie Bafang BBS02 Bling Ring ChainRing
I had an old bike, and then I went on Luna's website and found the parts to make my own electric bike. It was as easy as plug and play. I have to admit that I watched them build a bike on YouTube and that even made it easier. There are some tricks, like how many teeth on the front sprocket and the alignment of the chain to the back sprocket. Not as easy as it looks. But was some guidance from Luna I made it through that OK. I love my new Electric bike. Rich Pomada

Cyclone Mid Drive 3000 watt Planetary Ebike KIT
Cyclone 3000 project with 52v with 20ah battery. I am one of fhe worlds worst mechanics but i managed to put this together in one day. It has been a blast to ride. I live in New Orleans and can get anywhere in the city quicker, and funner, on bike than car. Love ebikes!

I've had a great experience so far. I've been using my BBSHD retrofitted Trek as my daily commuter for 6 months. I can get to work quicker than in a car and without having to shower when I arrive. It's great!
