Good bike bafang 1000w

I'm 66 and rode my luna e-bike 20 miles per day this summer,great to get exercise and be able to ride again thanks to my e-bike,wouldn't have even attempted it with just regular bike.

So far this kit has been a real joy. I haven’t had any problems with it yet and I’ve put over a 100 Miles on it. In fact I’m getting ready to buy another kit for my next build.

This is a Luna fat bike with BBSHD motor and Ludicrous controller with added side stand, 12 volt secondary power system with 10 Oz. Li-Po motorcycle battery, led accent lighting, flashing led taillight, off road led headlight, automotive horns, and MTX soundbar bluetooth stereo system, custom handgrips and brushguards, and Thudbuster suspension seat post.

I needed to be able to assist my pedaling, due to heart failure, and so, a presorted system was required. so that cadence was correct. The BBSHD fit the bill. Luna found me a used unit, and wholesale on battery cells. I found the last frame on the planet from Marin on ebay. I upped the wheels to 29s. Put a medium cage XTR derail, and added disk brakes. I fashioned my own battery case. And installed the aux. section of the battery, in the middle of my onboard lock. Which weighs a pound. I used an inch too long shock, and reduced air pressure drastically. Turned in the canister, so to resist bottoming. I reduced air in the fox 36 fork as well. It rides like a sporty Cadillac. I fit 14.5 ah onboard, have onboard lighting. Since I don't stand on pedals, they are small, and the seat has ONE sweet spot. And no need for a dropper. Vintage XTR eight speed. I cruise at 11 amps at 26 mph. I can cover maybe sixty miles on a charge. It weighs 43 lbs. IT is the finest ebike I have seen, diy or pro. IT is almost silent. I don't have brake cutoff, shift sensor or anything fancy. I just backpedal, or put on brakes. Simple, functional, safe. With my Shwalbe marathon plus tires, at 65 lbs, it rolls for days.

I am so gentle on the bike, that I can foresee it as reliable daily transportation. I only use PAS and limit it to 4, so I can keep up pedaling. I can pedal for miles, and don't get tired.


I created the perfect therapy bike. And, I want to fight to fund heart patients with them, as it is impossible to exercise regularly.

Super easy to install and great setup!

The installation of the BBS02 kit on a recumbent delta (2 wheels in back) trike went smoothly, with only a custom fabricated battery mounting plate from TerraCycle needed to complete the installation. If you are installing on a steel frame bike, you’ll need to crank the big ring that holds the motor assembly into the bottom bracket down very tight with loctite on the threads. The “teeth” on the antirotarion bracket that goes between the bottom bracket and the motor case don’t bite into steel very well.

The addition of electric assist to my recumbent trike is an enabling technology for me. I have knee damage from a motorcycle accident and for various reasons am not a candidate for knee replacement. I live near the top of a steep hill, in an area where there is no flat, there is only up and down. The Luna Cycle kit has gotten me back on the trike after 2 years of almost no riding. Range with the 430 watt Side Shark is more than enough to ride a 20 mile loop with about 750 feet of climb and an equal amount of descent

I bought BBSHD and installed on my commuter bike. It provided me assistance to go anywhere with paved road. No excuse anymore.
I also test it within typhoon days (Don't try it at home) . The power of science cut water through and make me Moses in city.

This is my conversion project. A sweet Bakfiet style, Dutch Cargo bike. I found the hills were too much for two kids and me, the ebike option worked out great. So good in fact, we’re going to convert another bike so my wife can keep up with the rest of the family.

The installation experience for both bikes went fairly well! There was a bit of time to get things figured out with spacers for the motors and getting the chain line correct. I did have a bad controller in the cargo bike that Luna helped diagnos. I replaced/installed the controller under warranty, all it well now!

Added BBSHD to 2016 Motobecane Fantom 29er. Bike was about $1400, motor kit, suspension post & street tires, about $1200. 68mm Kit installation went smoothly. I think the only item that I needed to replace from the kit was longer bolts for the chainring, plus spacer. Decided to create a relaxed, sit upright ride from the mtn bike due to chronic arm pain. Bike rides comfortably, my back, shoulders and neck also like sitting upright. To do this I swapped out the flat handlebar for a riser on headset & sweepback handlebars. The thudbuster is wonderful with my old, comfy brooks saddle. I used a dolphin bracket as I already had a few of those 52v dolphin batteries working on my other ebike. With the 48 chainring this thing cruises quietly and efficiently at 25 mph +. I'm not so impressed with the glue on brake sensor. I'm finding pausing peddling a couple seconds before shifting works fine for me. Would be nice if there was a dependable, instant motor kill option for shifting. In the future I could make this a mtn beast by swapping out the chainring, street tires and removing the headset riser. After a few long test rides, I'm happy with this bike & the quality of Luna products.

I bought my BBS-HD from Luna because of thier support, service and videos. I was far more comfortable in buying the products from an US company that uses and installs the equipment. Thier youtube videos are extensive and comprehensive.

I am impressed with this LUNA front suspension on my Gravity fat tire bike! It's been very reliable on the mountain bike trails. So far, a few hundred miles on it. I've been taking it down steps, too. ; -)

After I gained confidence in the system I road a 50 mile ride and came back with 40% battery left.
