Really nice charger with super fast shipping

Have several rides on my X2 and wanted to share my thoughts-
1. I think it is a $5k E-bike- it is not as "finished" as a specialized or Giant- the pedal assit / torque sensor is good but not as good. (yes i have the ludi controller) NOT Saying its bad but its just not as smooth and the compontents are mostly entry level so comparing it to an entry level "store brand" its comparable i think- BUT what it has that the store brands do not- A THROTTLE!
I went back and forth trying to decide having ridden the specialized levo and test ridden a giant if i should just get one of those since i had no way to test ride the luna but having a BBSHD on my older giant trance i have found that i like a throttle for certain conditions and was not willing to give that up.
2. Was a little suprised at the power relative to the BBSHD- to me it feels like the BBSHD has much more power and torque BUT the X2 is much more like riding a regular bike and is certainly more natural since there is no more ghost pedaling. Certainly feel like i am getting more exercise with the X2 which is certainly part of the reason i ride and can still be extra lazy when i want (it has a throttle :)).
3. miles per charge- obviously varies on how much you pedal and how big you are (im 240 lbs) from an efficiency standpoint which was a major point for me when compared to the BBSHD. for comparision- a regular ride i do that has ~2000 ft of total climbing and is 13 miles i find that on the BBSHD 52v battery it will use 80% of the battery- same ride on the X2 (with same amount of effort on my part) uses a little less than 50% of the 48v battery.
I get range anxiety on the BBSHD at around 18 miles and really need to be easy on the throttle and pedal more. Have not pushed range on the X2 but am comfortable that with normal riding (throttle when needed) that i could get 30ish+ miles on a charge- so yeah way more efficient then the BBSHD dont know relative to the "store brands" although from feedback from my buds riding levos- i think they are even more efficient than the X2- with LESS Power- I can climb anything if I can keep the front wheel down and do it faster then my levo buddies can with less effort / sweat
4. Sizing- i am 5' 11" and have always ridden a large frame traditionally but when test riding a 29er (giant) that was a large felt too big and not as nimble as i would have liked- Luna X2 i think sizes BIG! i went with 27.5 and a medium frame ant it fits great a large would have been to big for my riding style which is strictly off road and 80% single track in the alleghany and Blue ridge mountains and i was coming from an old school 26" wheel which i really like for throwing it around on the trail.
5. Misc items- Trimmed over an inch off each side of the handle bars- stock width is massive. The seat is narrow and will be replaced. Will be adding spacers to the rear shock to hopefully improve ride. given my weight have found that is a big help wth my other FS bikes. bent/ dinged my rear rim on first ride- rider error but certainly think that a better quality rim (squarer profile) would have taken more abuse (tire pressure was 45 psi and hit a ledge) so this is strictly opinion.

OVERALL- i would buy it again and certainly would recommend the X2, just dont think you are getting a $10k levo or store brand bike for $5k - but it is a great deal for a good bike with smooth torque sensing and a throttle (a must for me) + with the ludi controller you have the ability to tinker and individualize to your own riding style (still figuring out but like the logging and adjustability so far)

Final- Have bought several BBSHDs, and batteries from LUNA before buying the X2 and service and follow up has always been good.

My stock throttle started shorting out when the electric cable cracked and separated near the handle. I purchased this as a replacement, and it worked just like the previous throttle. delivery was reasonably fast amd the installation was easy.

Great product and service

Easy to use and fully customizable. You don’t even need a computer, it all can be done from your phone. If you have a Bafang controller you definitely want to get one of those.

The bike worked great out of the box. After the easy assembly and a charge, I rode it up to the top of Mt. Wilson (San Gabriel Mountains, California). It was a non-stop climb with difficult terrain due to the recent rains and snow, but the bike performed flawlessly. The ride was 4 hrs up and 1 hr. down. Full suspension made the ride down a blast. The suspension worked great. And ludicrous mode was awesome. I honestly didn't think I would have enough battery, or that the bike would in some way let me down. Super happy and looking forward to many more rides.

Great bike great service fast shipping and quick to respond with questions.

This is mandatory for a bbs build. The stock tension bracket does not hold the bbs in place! Either get this or do the hose clamps to the frame thing. This makes for a cleaner build and is perfect! Flexible enough to bend into place on a variety of bikes and plenty tough to stand up to abuse. Price is right 5/5.

A significant upgrade for posture, especially when paired with a riser stem. These and moto pegs have been my greatest additions to the Ron. Save some $ and get these over the pro-taper bars, you won’t be disappointed.

So far so good! Install was simple with the correct tools and I’m back to rippin’ the Ron. Shipping from Luna is remarkably fast, I’m always blown away how quickly my orders arrive. 5/5 experience per usual.
