Regarding the shorter lifespan you’ve experienced, that can definitely be frustrating. Typically, this happens due to certain water conditions. High levels of chlorine, sediment, or heavy metals in your water can wear out the filter faster than usual. Water usage is also a factor. If your household has multiple users or if showers tend to be longer or more frequent, that can push more water through the filter and reduce its lifespan.

Filteroo® ULTRAPURE 5.75" All in 1 Ceramic Gravity Water Filtration Candle
The older design was better. The one with the green base. I had to really loosen the nut in order for water to flow, and now the filter moves around. I had it tightened and no water was able to flow. All good, still works fine and is filtering the water.

The filter was easy to install and the water tastes great. The flow rate is a little slow after the water has been running for a bit - that is it’s quick to fill a glass of water but pressure drops and it is slow to fill a larger bottle of water.

Noticable difference in water usage too, less wait time for water to get hot. My theory is because of the higher water pressure in the shower head better regulating hot and cold. Previously, the flow rate of hot water was much lower than cold water. The water also hits the body less aggressively, with much finer spray of water coverage. Also, don't have to turn the tap on as hard for a decent stream coming out.
