I bought this jacket for my trip to Svalbard Island, Norway, which is in the high arctic. In August it's moderately warm, around 40 F, so you can get by with a good insulating jacket, but if it's raining or windy, you're going to want to wear a waterproof shell as well. I usually wear a size Large, which runs roomy, but in this case I went with a Medium, which was more form-fitting. That worked well as a light jacket (and even though it's very lightweight, the hoodie is quite warm!) but also worked well with a size Large rain jacket over top. My motto for this trip was "Layers! Layers!" and this hoodie made for a great layer.
