I am a merino wool fan. HOWEVER, alpaca wool has just occupied the same spot on the podium!! I bought two colours of the original crew and used them for my trip throughout Japan. They were extremely comfortable and fit all occasions weather wise AND fashion wise. The only ‘hassle’ is washing by hand but the comfort and fit of this original crew is worth it. Last but not least, it is extremely light and definitely not a weight hindrance during travel

This is a great coast and I would give it 5 stars except the zipper is hard to get used to. It does work but when I first got it I really struggled. I am short and I think that is the problem. I got a large am 5’1”145 lbs and usually wear a medium although many coats I wear a large.I opted for the large and it is a bit big with even my sweaters. But It isnt so big it is sloppy just a bit big. I would rather it be big because I wear wool sweaters. I am older and I have been through cancer so I get colder easier. REcommend
