I work part time at REI Coop in Oklahoma City, OK and had folks asking about alpaca socks and I could not see that was something we carried. Back in 2016 Kuhl had a jacket that was alpaca and I had purchased some socks at an alpaca farm on San Jaun Island in Washington state. The socks were really basic and designed to wear on a cold night.

I like the fit and finish of the mountain crew. I've had it about a week around the house, at work, shoveling snow, snowboarding, hiking in the snow etc. The performance of warmth and wicking moisture is impressive. I was hoping the knit structure would be more durable ant preventing runs and loose threads. After a week mine has a few character flaws. I will continue to wear the sweater but more carefully. I was wishing for a bit more durability.
