The trigger took my pull weight from just under 6lbs to just under 3lbs. That was my main goal, but now I notice the creep big time. It's like a 2 stage trigger now, which I don't mind just took some getting use too.

The Ranger Point Marlin trigger kit addresses one side of the sear engagement equation, the sear itself. The sear mates with the hammer at a small shelf referred to as the "hammer hook." It is the height of this hammer hook--typically around 0.030"-- that determines trigger travel prior to break. The RPP sear improves pull weight by reducing the engagement angle and improving the sear surface, but no matter what we do to the sear, it must still slide all the way off that 0.030" hammer hook before trigger break occurs.
Unfortunately, reducing pull weight sometimes reveals imperfections in the hammer hook. With a heavy factory pull, so much pressure is required to move the trigger that the break occurs like a dry branch snapping--all at once. Once force is reduced it is easier to feel the whole sliding motion of the sear and hook passing each other. While these imperfections can sometimes be seen under a magnifier, there is no consistent way to dress them down. The only sure fix would be to provide a new hammer with our kit, greatly increasing the price. Another option is to work with a gunsmith to dress down the height of the hammer hook to 0.015 to 0.020". This will typically remove a lot of creepy or gritty feel from the trigger system.

Here is a pic of my new Henry Big Boy X in .357 Magnum. I absolutely love this thing, takes me back to my first gun which was a Winchester model 94 my dad bought me back in 1973 when I was 14 years old. I couldn’t be happier than I am with this Henry and RPP build and all the work was done by me.
The components are as follows:

Due to the long length of pull on the original Henry stock as well as with the RPP Stock I opted to cut the original Henry stock and install a Pachmyer Decelerator grind to fit butt pad to an overall length of 12 3/4”. I painted the stock to match the Elite Moss color of the hand guard and while I had it off the gun I installed two of the GrovTec GTHM198 Hollow Stock Push Button Base Full Rotation Black Oxide QD swivel bases.
I also spray foamed the inside of the stock to get rid of the hollow sound that makes it sound cheap.
I’m extremely pleased with the final product and it has become my favorite farm/UTV gun.

Far too loose for locktight and that was a silly solution to begin with. If they wanted to avoid the end user doing any hand fitment they could have just added a set screw.

Everything fit very well. When doing the install, really take your time with the tenon. If you don't shave enough, you will bend it when hammering it into place. I made the mistake but thankfully it wasn't too bad.

Holosun, Primary Arms 509T Red Dot Rifle Mount | Fits Most Rifles
The package arrived marked RMR/ACRO pattern, I was real confused and appropriate help didn’t happen. Yes, it works with the 509t footprint, I mounted a Holosun SCRS. I’m submitting a photo showing a Weaver S466 steel mount and Romeo5 for comparison to the RPP mount and SCRS. Interestingly the center height over bore is about the same. The way I have the RPP setup mounted facilitates a thumb wrap around for the way I carry. My rifles are Marlin. The RPP system is nice.
