Marlin 1894/S&W 1854 Loading Gate (Black) PISTOL CALIBERS ONLY
Years ago my hands were strong and calloused and I could shuck those shells in there, now not so much. The idea of sanding down the original loading gate, well it’s always seemed kind of sketchy. These things are great, I start the shell then put my thumbnail against the gate and shove. They go in easily and I don’t get pinched.

Marlin 1894 Lever Loop Straight Grip Stock | Medium Loop (black)
I need to stop buying on impulse and research more. I thought this was a factory lever with black nitride coating. Then discovered upon receiving it was, that it was a RPP design with a smaller loop. Still cool but I did prefer the bigger original loop but I did far prefer the new black lever. Then after install the lever does Not snap in very securely under the grip, and simply handling the rifle can cause it to pop from the resting position and dangle slightly. I uninstalled and reinstalled to ensure all mechanisms were turned and installed in the right direction, but they were, and I saw no improvement. Overall I’m still pleased with the purchase, I just wish the lever would snap securely into its resting/closed position.

Thanks for your order and review. It sounds like a longer spring under the plunger would fix things. 1-2 coils worth. That would allow the plunger to grab the trigger guard more tightly.

Much needed for any Henry

My Big Boy in .44 Mag is a gem of a rifle, but the wobble in the lever kinda turned me off. After getting a few other products from RPP, I added two sets to my cart. my .44 ended up needing 3 shims. Zero wobble now and the lever feels much smoother. Ever bit the tiny amount of resistance after install, but it almost adds to the smoothness if that makes sense.
The other set, I used for my .360 Model X. It took all 4 shims. Same as above with my .44. Super smooth, zero wobble and makes it feel more premium.
I'll be ordering two more sets for my .45 Colt and my .30-30. These are a must have for any Henry. It disappoints me they are even needed in an expensive rifle, but it's good that they are made and available.
