I bought a Henry 45-70 for deer season. I found this site and thought the aesthetic was pleasing. So I purchased and upgraded pretty much everything on my Henry. I went today to finish sight in my scope and I took 5 or 6 shots and lost my sight picture. I realized that the butt stock was moving. So I loosened it up and tightened it back down. I took 4 more shots and lost my sight picture again. The butt stock had moved again the bolts are not loose, it is moving from just the recoil of the 45-70. I can not say I would recommend the butt stock for a 45 70. Looks great it would make a fantastic wall hanger if that is what you are into that. However, I would like to harvest some deer so functional a loss.

Hello Scott and thank you for your feedback. I checked with the team and it sounds like some of the screws from our dealer have too much oil on them. They recommend degreasing all of the surfaces and screw threads with alcohol (not the head) which will stop the issue. The oil is leaching into the areas and not allowing the Bellville washers to tighten as they should. They're making changes on this end to better degrease the screws on this end before assembly to counter the issue. Please let us know if this fixed your issue at support@rangerpointprecision.com

Hello and thanks for the feedback. Yes anodizing is only so thick and will scratch as the cartridges slide into the rifle. The silver option with clear coat is the one color that will look brand new the longest.

Perfect size for the 1894, my friend bought one and I bought one, we installed his easy enough but my was a challenge for sure. Not sure what the issue was. Both rifles were new Ruger Marlins but eventually we were successful getting mine installed and it functions fine, we will get out next week and try them out.
