I see no mention of Rust.
All of the etched surfaces on the part that I received were rusty. And not just light rust, the engraving was crusted to the point that the characters and shapes were indiscernible. After an hour (60 minutes +/-) the part was cleaned and rust free. it required re-blueing and I filled the etched areas with with enamel and oiled the part. Now it looks like a $27 part + shipping. So, after all of that the part fit as intended. Lucky me.
Maybe consider oil/wax on finished parts, and a little QC. Apparently neither happened with the part that I received.

It looks spectacular. It fit well and came with wonderful directions. But it doesn't really reduce recoil much at all. I am very familiar with brakes and their design and use on high power rifles. This is nominally functional and could use some tweeks to better redirect gases for better function. Overall, not dissatisfied but I think it needs work.

I was impressed enough to replace my Midwest Industries M-Loc hand guard with the Ranger Point Handguard. The Ranger Point Handguard is much stronger and mounts more securely. You need strong when dealing with a 45/70. I also ordered the Butt stock and several quivers.

Exactly what I was after. As an older shooter, I can no longer use iron sights and a scope on lever action looks too non-traditional for my taste. Moreover, scopes are a bit sensitive for my use. A Ranger Point Peep Sight with wings to protected along with a light gathering front blade is just the ticket. If your getting long in the tooth and far sighted - this set up works great!
