Would it be possible to put the QD attachment in between the front attachment points that go into the barrel stake.
Front lock slots on hand guard are small- or extend hand guard 1/2” to make slots the same..
Other wise I’d give 5 star- works as it should- great fit.

Marlin 1894 Lever Loop Straight Grip Stock | Medium Loop (black)
This product is everything it claims to be. Well made and finished, easy to install and absolutely improves the function of the rifle. Normally a standard lever loop is rough on the back of your fingers, especially curved, pistol-grip style loops. This loop is sized and shaped perfectly so that you simply move your hand forward and back to operate. No twisting of the wrist or banging the back of your fingers. Many weapon modifications are gimmicks but this loop is how they all should have been designed from the beginning. I will be installing these on my (2) other Marlins.

I have a Marlin trapper chambered in 45/70. Since purchasing it a few years ago I have slowly added RPP parts. As of right now I have the hand guard, trigger, quick takedown screw, loading gate, and safety delete. On top of that i added the xs sight rail and a vortex scout scope. Plus some leather to keep a classic look. All of those parts have reformed this rifle into a smooth shooting beast. I highly recommend all of these parts and I only wish I added them sooner!!!

Marlin 1894 Lever Loop Straight Grip Stock | Medium Loop (black)
MUCH better than the 1895 factory lever. The factory lever is convex on the lower side, causing the fingers to wobble and slip over the "hump". It also puts most of the levering force on the middle two fingers. The lower side on this lever is concave, allowing the fingers to settle at the bottom in a more natural, and stable position. Also, levering force is spread equally over all four fingers making it much more comfortable. Took off one star because the socket for the lever plunger is ever so slightly out of position such that the plunger just barely gets past the latch pin when the lever is closed, causing the lever to slip open if you are using a reduced power plunger spring. Had to stretch mine a little to provide enough force to keep the lever closed.

I have not yet installed the plunger, spring, & pin. So I cannot fully comment as yet. The medium loop lever did slide easily into position in the receiver, however.

This was an easy 5 minute swap with most of the time spent getting the right tools needed. It made my 336 a much more usable rifle. my hand easily fits in the loop lever. I plan on buying one for each of my other lever action rifles
