This part was undersized. I know they say locktite will hold it in place, but that wouldn't account for the unsightly gaps on both sides of the dovetail. Trashed it and put in the old style with the "blob"

We very are sorry to hear that your Marlin Rifle's rear sight dovetail was so out of spec. Our "always in spec" $9 solution with zero sanding has generally been received well. Our 2-3 sizes, lots of sanding, at $28 (no blob) had tons of complaints b/c of the OEM's never being in spec. Hmmm.

I actually bought this for my Marlin 10mm. unfortunately the threads weren't the same. No worries, I put it onnthe 45-70 instead. It matches well and looks great. And obviously helps with the recoil. I like the design that allows me to just thread it on. No need for shims etc.

This thing works great with a hiviz front sight I was looking at getting a red dot and saw this thinking it might work and keep the classic look better and wow does it work out great. It's very easy to adjust and the 4 leaf clover like rear makes for a very easy "Ghost ring" to follow. It's a lot cheaper in the long run then any red dot, no batteries, and you'll get the look as well.

Rifle Dovetail Sight Filler Blank (black nitride coated)
Bought one of these for a Ruger 10/22, it fit perfectly. You definitely need to use red thread locker with these as the instructions state, they are not a taper fit and won't stay put without it. I bought a second for an old Remington 512 which has a slightly smaller diameter barrel at the dovetail location. The filler blank sits a little proud in the slot but looks good and is close enough. Again, red thread locker is key.
