Ranger point takedown thumb screw makes it easy to break down your rifle and fit it in a much smaller bag for transport.

Went with this particular model due to Henry’s pic rails being on prolonged backorder. I am more than impressed with the fit and quality of the Rhino rail. Easy to navigate thru website and good installation videos

The rail is just what I needed. It is attractive on my rifle, is relatively easy to install, has appropriate adjustment points and includes hardware that allows a solid fit. The rail is long enough to add accessories/attachments and still have plenty of grip space for a variety of hand positions. I prefer the shape of the rail since I will use it from bench to bipod to unsupported. The rounded profile and diameter are optimal for use with a variety of rests. It's a bit pricey but the versatility is worth it.

Awesome product, I watched the video on their website and it was simple. Took me less than 5 minutes to install.

This is my first gun using a muzzle brake. I originally sighted in my ruger made Marlin SBL 45-70 with no brake using Hornady 325gr ftx and after 15 rounds I was sore. I installed this T-Rex brake and shot it after to verify POI and it did not change. What changed was the recoil. And it changed drastically. Claimed to be 40-45% less and I wood say it's all of that and more. I would recommend to everyone. Fit and finish is amazing.

Running this on a S&W 1854 Stealth Hunter in .357.

The Good:
Made loading easier and looks great. I do genuinely like this and am keeping it on my rifle.

The Bad:
After approx. 300 rounds through the gun the loading door got stuck under the carrier (multiple times) and required disassembly on the spot to fix.

(Potential) Cause:
Natural operation of the rifle rattles the retaining screw just enough to loosen the loading gate which allows it to go under the carrier and cause a jam.

Solution:
Include a tiny amount of blue loctite (or similar semi-permanent glue) with the gate and/or update installation instructions to reflect.

I also agree with a prior comment about screws & Allen wrench because I just so happened to have the right size but not everyone will.

Other reviews talk about how great these are, wish I had gotten one of those. There was a raised and very sharp ridge around the outside where it attaches to the gun. Like you would get on the trailing edge if you took something to a grinding wheel. Got a nice shard of metal in my thumb while inspecting it. All the little cutouts also have sharp edges. I got another brand for another gun and every bit is smooth and polished like they actually cared about the product they put out. Had to file off the sharp ridge because it it stuck out past the edges of the barrel, and kept snagging the cleaning cloth, as well as me. then had to re black the filed area. When I first tried to screw it on to the barrel, immediately it was very grindy. On further inspection The threads were full of minute shavings that were stuck in the threads, had to get a thread brush out and spin it around 3-4 times to remove the burrs then take an air blower to it. Then it seemed to go on fine. I don't know who makes these for R.P.P but their QC needs some attention. I had purchased one of their hand guards for a Henry rifle and was pleased with that. This not so much.
Update:
Ranger point has offered me a small partial refund. I still have a nice cut on my thumb and it got infected, perhaps from the coating on the break. Not trusting the product, I no longer have it. I traded a guy at the range for two boxes of 45-70 ammo. Thanks for your attention R.P.P.

Overall my experience with RPP has been really good. I think the company has excellent ? products for upgrading your level action rifle. I enjoy looking at all the different concepts & projects of the other customers.

I call this an upgrade because that’s exactly what it is. The floppy trigger is gone, but the important part…
I installed two of these. One on a .44 mag 1794 that took a 5lb trigger down to 3.5lbs, and the second on a ..45-70 that took a 4lb trigger down to 2.5lbs. The 45-70 is almost too light for a hunting rifle but man is it sweet.
Easy upgrade! First one took me 15 minutes the second was done in 5.

Works as advertised makes cleaning a simpler job and does not come loose when using the rifle
