You carried out my vasectomy reversal almost 12 months ago.
We came to you after much deliberation about fertility treatment or reversal surgery and decided it was a more sensible and cheaper option to try your methods. You were also recommended to us by another medical professional that has worked with you in the past.
I must say I was very pleased with the service I received, from an almost immediate call back from yourself explaining the ins and outs to a smooth booking in and procedure on the day.

I am glad to say we have recently fallen pregnant! We are now just over three months in and looking forward to the future.

I had a vasectomy almost 14 years ago after having 2 children with my first wife. After we split, I married again, and my wife has no children of her own. I went for a reversal operation about 3 years ago with a different consultant , whichever was unsuccessful ...
We were advised then to try IVF as the first Consultant said a second reversal wasn't an option.....so had a surgical extraction and had 2 failed IVF attempts ...
We thought this was game over as we had paid out almost £20k already..
I then came across John as I thought of getting a second opinion. I emailed him and he rang me the same morning. Went to Bury st Edmonds for a second attempt at a reversal with a different procedure..
The test came back positive and all working again.

The whole experience went smoothly and was stress. Dr Mcloughlin was calm and relaxed and put my mind at ease. All the nurses, theatre staff and the catering staff were nice and helpful. I was by myself and stayed overnight and had booked a hotel for the following night. They let me stay in the hospital, and gave me lunch and dinner, till I had to book into the hotel which was really helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of getting this operation.

I had my reversal with John McLoughlin and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an absolute professional and a genius in his field. He's a straight talker and tells you exactly how it is, and a really lovely man. My op was successfull and I'm healing nicely. Don't think twice about choosing John, he is brilliant! I had my procedure in BMI in Bury St Edmunds and it was a really excellent experience. From the Receptionist to the Dinner Lady, they were just lovely and the nurses are very attentive and professional but friendly too. They cater to your every need. I was in and out in a day and no complications or issues whatsoever!

I'd had a vasectomy some 16 years ago and then an unsucccessful reversal six years ago at Spire in Norwich. My wife and I decided to do IVF and, because my sperm count had remained low, we had to do ICSI - all very expensive and obviously an unwelcome ordeal for my wife. The IVF cycle was unsuccessful and we were reluctant and couldn't afford to try again just yet but eventually it dawned on me that a re-reveral was a cheaper and simpler option. An FSH test indicated that it was worth a try. In hindsight I am disappointed that Bourne Hall did not suggest this rather than allowing us to go through IVF.
I contacted BMI because they're local, I wanted to try a different surgeon, and because the procedure was cheaper than other localish options. John McLoughlin gave me a very thorough consultation. He warned that the chance of success was not great but that he would keep an open mind and not decide how to proceed until he'd opened me up and assessed the damage. I found this particularly encouraging.
My experience with BMI was very good. The nursing care and attention in particular was excellent. After the surgery John explained that my vas deferens had collapsed and become shrivelled around the previous repairs so reterminating was the obvious way forward.
Recovery was unproblematic with the expected bruising and oozing for a week or two.
After three months I had a feritility test and the sperm count was 16.5M/ml which amazingly is just within the normal range. Motility isn't great but in principle I'm fertile again.
It's still early days and no conception yet but I wish I'd done the re-reversal instead of IVF five years ago. Thanks John and BMI for an excellent and personalised treatment.

had reversal 5 years after my vasectomy. within 6 months of trying my wife and I are now expecting our fourth child. painful and expensive but the end result makes it worth while.

Lots of information given about the procedure before hand and on the day, hospital easy to find hotels within 2min walk, staff at the hospital very helpful and friendly, operation went well and stress free,John McLoughlin, his colleagues and staff I Highly recommend.
