This is a well-designed and laid out description of Lean Six Sigma. It contains extensive discussion of the parts of Lean and Six Sigma presented in a logical progression in an easy self-paced PowerPoint style with progress quizzes to map your understanding of the material. I liked the interaction of how it showed Lean and Six Sigma as individual disciplines interwoven into the Lean Six Sigma philosophy we use today and how they complement each other both in use and as a management tool. Lean is overcoming waste in throughput and velocity to meet demand. Six Sigma works within pieces of that lean value stream to reduce variation and issues that prevent the lean value stream from meeting that demand, on quality and on time. All concepts and tools were clearly explained with great examples. The exam was challenging with both theory and calculation based questions and even though the answers were multiple choice and right in front of you it made you "do the math" to choose the right one. As presented and verified by exam it prepares one to be a better project/product/process manager and mentor for those performing other projects.

Positives: (+) First, as a long practiced engineer who at one time taught many of the topics in the course, particularly SPC, the course reminded me emphatically that many of these skills are perishable. Thank you for inspiring me to reboot these skills - much appreciated! (+) The breadth of topics is quite comprehensive (8.5/10) (-) I would have liked to see some low-level treatment of reliability statistics (-) Maybe brief mention of somewhat popular topicsmethods like Theory of Constraints, TRIZ, etc (+) The level of detail for most topics is good without delving too deeply into statistical theory (7/10) (-) A few topics were mentioned and even appeared on the exam (Taguchi Methods, certain non-parametcic methods, e.g.) that might have benefited from a bit deeper treatment during the course Overall I thank you for the work that went into the course and the cogent presentation of the course materials.
