I have used the KSF-2 for about 8 years and it finally wore out, had to buy a second to replace it so our fish stay fed while we are away or just busy.
The adjustable feed amount is great for fish that just keep growing bigger and bigger.

Could not live without this product.

I have been using this feeder for about 6 years without any problems. It only would not feed if I forgot to fill it, and with the added extension, that is only about once every ten days. Finally, it did empty the entire feeder in 24 hours so I am replacing it with the exact same feeder, but new. I think the timer went kaput, as in testing the feeder, I could not get it to fail. Thus I have a spare one, if and when I should every have a problem. I love the adjustability of the feeder and the fish love its dependability.

I had a different feeder before, and we loved not having to get up at the crack of dawn to feed hungry cats. I did a lot of research, and finally decided to purchase this one after the one I previously had just mysteriously stopped working. This one costs a little more, but I like the fact that it is made in the USA, I can get replacement parts, and I can potentially get it repaired if the need arises.
It wasn't difficult to put together (even for someone challenged with things like that such as myself). The video was very helpful. I like that the timer is external - less issues to go wrong with the unit.
I have 2 cats, and they can eat together from the one bowl quite easily. I did not need to fashion a system to feed them separately - although they get along fine when it comes to food.
The way the dispenser dispenses food is different as well. I feel that food will not get jammed in there, if that could be an issue with certain feeders. It is easy to adjust to different sizes of food as well, which I thought was unique.
Our other feeder emitted a loud beep when it was feeding time, which this one doesn't. I have to say I am loving that in the wee hours of the morning! This one is quiet enough that I don't hear it.
So far so good... I'm hoping it lasts longer than the year my previous feeder lasted!

I feed my cat 12 meals a day, 1/16 cup per feeding. Try doing that with any other feeder! Not a perfect score because Of the high price.

We were on the verge of getting my cat tested for GI issues because he kept throwing up after his morning feed (even though he only got 1/4 of his food then). The problem was exacerbated when we went on vacation and the cat got only 2 feedings/day.

Changing to this product allowed me to dole out food 1 Tablespoonful + at a time -- 7 times/day. It forces the cat to graze - rather than belonging to the clean bowl club

I had an easy time with the digital timer - but putting together the feeder was a bit of a challenge for me. The video made it possible. My only suggestion is the video should be re-done with a slightly slower pace and more pauses. This will allow you to pause the video without having to go backwards.

Also -- I soon realized I wanted a second bowl in order to avoid the situation of inadvertently being bowl-less when I went to wash out the bowl.

A digital timer is necessary if you want to control the amount of food the animal gets using the on/off settings of the timer. I find that a 7-second setting gives me a bit more than 1 Tablespoonful of food. (That will vary depending upon kibble size.)

The video that the company provides makes the task of setting it up fairly straight-forward.

That said -- I'd think twice about this if I was technically challenged. If you still have a flip phone because you are intimidated by a smart phone -- I'd think twice about this. On the other hand, you don't have to be an engineer to set this up.

We have four cats, one with IBD who really needs her meals to be small and spread throughout the day. AND we were getting tired (literally) of the time at which the cats seemed to think they needed to be fed. Much research led me to the Super Feeder, and I'm glad it did! We started out with two on one timer for the cat with IBD and her companion. They are fed four times a day, every six hours. Taking care of those two took care of our early rising as the other two cats are a little less insistent. I've ordered two more feeders for the two cats that live in the front part of the house. They don't have the dietary needs of the IBD cat, and they share their space with the dogs, so their feeders will be used only when we are away for the occasional weekend out and for longer vacations. I love the fact that when vacation time comes I'll be able to have the cat sitter come out once a day or every other day to make sure all is well and clean the kitty boxes instead of the twice a day visits we have had. Even the twice a day visits were hard on the IBD cat because she really does much better with regular feeding times.

Setting them up is a little fiddly, but it isn't difficult and once set they perform flawlessly. These feeders are well worth the price!

Assembly took me some time, however the instructions were clear and easy to follow. This product is worth the cost, is definitely high quality. My feeder arrived in one week, as it was sent to Canada. Was well packaged, and arrived in good condition. Am happy to not have to hire a sitter for the cats anymore, and that I don't have to deal with behaviour problems as a result of a late feeding.

This is the best feeder, worth every penny. We have a cat with feeding issues and the timed feeder has changed her life. She is more active, playful and not been sick since we started using this. It took her 2 feeding cycles and she had it all figured out. She tried to get food out, but was unable. Great Feeder.

I have only had the Super Feeder for about a week now but I already love it and so does my cat. I got it because I work long hours and frequently travel and wanted an accurate and reliable way to feed my cat. My cat also always thinks she's hungry and wolfs down her food way too fast and often throws it up after eating too fast so I thought this feeder that can be programmed up to 8 times per day for small amounts of food would be perfect for feeding her a little bit each time throughout the day to prevent her from getting sick. So far it has served this purpose perfectly. I'm hoping this will help her lose weight as well since the food portions are very consistent.
Within 30 mins of her realizing this thing would give her food she tried to break into it but was unsuccessful. This really is a well constructed and smart design. I am proud to support products made in the USA too. Be sure to watch the videos they have made to help you put it together and program the timer. The videos make it easy. I also really like that the digital timer has a back up power source so if the power did go out my cat would still get fed for some time. This feeder may be expensive and not very attractive but it works very well and does not have the huge faults that other automatic feeders do. I would recommend this to anyone with no reserves.

One word to sum things up for me. WOW! This product is simple, but has been an excellent addition for my cats. My only regret is that I didn't find this product earlier, as it would have saved me some money (we have two cats, and I have tried about four different feeders per cat with no luck). I purchased two of these and they are flawless. I also want to thank Gerry for working with me and assisting in helping me. I would gladly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an easy to work with automated feeding option.

Two friends of mine use this feeder for their cats and they loved it. It's also in the top 2 of several blogs I read when researching a new feeder. So I felt comfortable with choosing it once I decided to switch away from a battery operated feeder. It is awesome.

I am able to program exact amounts of food for my fat cat throughout the day, instead of a single food dump in the morning.

I don't have to worry about a battery running low and the thing not feeding her.

It did have to be assembled, but it wasn't super difficult. Just follow the instructions in the manual, it came with all the tools needed (2 screwdrivers). And programming the feeder and the timer was easier than expected. I thought I would have to watch the videos, but the written instructions were clear and easy to understand.

Figuring out the amounts of food to dispense was the most time consuming, but worth it since my cat is on a diet and needs strict portion control.

I also appreciate that I was kept informed of every step in the shipping process.

It truly is the best invention.. Works amazing, both my cats get excited when the food drops..really saves me the morning aggravation of getting up and the evening of rushing home.. Easy to assembly if you watch the video, although the timer is a bit tricky. But I love it!!!

Great unit! The dog tried twice to destroy it and failed. But the second time, she got close. So we had to move it up to a shelf where the dog couldn't get to.

I understand that the screws that hold the cap onto the feeder reserve is really sturdy. I just wonder why a snap-on solution could not have been developed.

This 1.5 gallon hopper now allows us to feed our cat who is obsessed with eating for a period of time longer than 4 days which is what the 2 clear plastic hoppers provided with the CSF-3 allow.

Not only are these the very best feeders out there but lose a part and it is available. The sack even lists all the screws etc.
