I think volunteer world is a great site with plenty of opportunities and choices in which to pick from.

Always responsive to queries, and been very helpful in organising our visit, and have such amazing volunteering options for every age group. So happy we found them!

I completed the turtle rehabilitation programme in cairns through oceans to earth, via volunteer world. The O2E team where very quick to respond to my questions via email. Unfortunately there was some incorrect information on the page for the programme (via volunteer world website) which I needed to ask about. The project cost thankfully included all accommodation, breakfast (provided by hostel), ferries to and from the island everyday, and donation to the centre, so there wasn’t much you had to pay for outside of this. Working with the turtles every day was absolutely magical! They’re such incredible animals. The team leaders at the centre where friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the centre owner/manager was unwell and so couldn’t spend any time with us. After out volunteering duties we could enjoy the island. The volunteer team leader could usually organise for us to catch the late boat back to cairns so we could spend the afternoon walking, swimming, snorkelling or chilling on the island. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication between volunteer world, O2E and the rehab centre regarding cost and volunteer time which was confusing and frustrating for everyone involved. I understand there is some centre organisational change as well as a change to volunteer rosters which unfortunately ended up effecting my project week. All in all I had an amazing time, just hope the reorganisations can continue without effecting others and communications can become clearer between all party’s. the volunteer world website is confusing and gives you lots of different costs so it’s unclear what you need to pay. Also, the ‘deposit’ you pay to volunteer world does not go towards your project, it’s actually an admin or agency fee, which is misleading.

The people of Volunteer World are very helpful, they helped me with evert step to make planning my trip easier. I could contact them at any time and I always received a fast and helpful response!

The projects seem to be well organised and the communication with the team is very easy and warm. I am looking forward to be a volunteer and part of one of the projects!

I think that volunteer world is an easy platform to seek out volunteer opportunities overseas, however I think it can do better in reaching out to more NGOs as the options listed are quite limited.

I haven't gone on my expedition yet, but everything was planned super smoothly and efficiently, and any questions or concerns I had were addressed right away. Highly recommend!

It is a great platform. I could easily find the volunteer program I was interested on and I'm gonna start in June. Everything very clear and easy to follow.
