West Indies Miterless Wood Post Cap™
Mitreless post caps are the way to go. Discovered them when needing to replace a rotted mitred post cap that had allowed water to enter, rotting the top 12 " of the post as well. This particular post cap was very high quality, in mahogany. I painted it. Easy to install with Liquid Nails (to avoid water access). Should last for 20-30 years.
