This is a great product. Wish I had found it years ago. The high quality 1-piece base is too die for. The quality of copper is fantastic. My only suggestion is that there be more wood trim exposed.

I installed the flat top copper post caps on the two newell posts after a contractor poured a new set of concrete front steps. I installed new posts of 4x6 smooth sided cedar, with a cedar handrail. The caps fit perfectly and look really cool! A nice finishing statement on my step re-do.

We installed the copper post caps yesterday and they looked amazing, until it rained last night. The caps are no longer shiny and have dark rain spots. Boo, we didn’t realize they’d oxidize so fast.

Hello Jeanette! Our copper caps are polished and left uncoated to allow the patina process to naturally occur. Any sort of direct moisture contact such as rain will accelerate this process. You can always use bar keepers friend to polish them back up and coat them with an outdoor metal lacquer. This will keep them shiny for years to come :)
