Ordered size for 5 1/2” posts and they’re slightly bigger than the post. Would have easily fit a true 6” x 6”. If the sizing had been correct they would have been perfect

Hello Neal, I just sent you an email to confirm you received the correct size cap. If your post is measuring 5-1/2in., there should only be roughly 1/8 of an inch in tolerance on each side once installed.
Our nominal 6x6 post caps measure 5-3/4" while our rough cut post caps measure 6-1/4"

I put them on today. Sit well without the screws but need to be immobilized. If I am to be perfectly honest, I used longer screws, also copper colored, than those you included. Another half inch would be better.
