Diseased/dying

Unfortunately, ours hasn't done well. Upon arrival, it looked to be possibly diseased with blight, brown spot/hole shot, or some other kind of disease. Tree was slightly smaller than the 7-8' tree we were expecting. Leaves had tiny round holes throughout the plant. After a week or so the leaves would turn yellow and eventually fall off. It could have been transplant shock, but I think it was a combination of the disease and transplant shock. In the 9 weeks we've had it, it's never looked to recover. Has put on zero growth. Today, I decided to do the scratch test to see what the cambium looked like. Only the base of the tree shows any green. Everything at the top and any branches are dry and brown underneath.
I will give it more time before I put in for my 1 year warranty, but I'm pretty certain this tree is a lost cause. Hopefully, we'll have better luck with our next order.

Both arrived safe in about 1 week June 24. Seemed to have very few roots so was worried but I planted with graft 1" above final soil level in rich black heavy compost/earth mix and tamped it tight to roots and 1 week slight growth began
with water day in am. 3 weeks in growth continues at every bud and very pleased. All 3 trees doing very well. I still water and check them every morning
and smile. A+.

This one came without any buds on it didn't look like it was going to grow at all. Planted it watered as it should have been and had the fertilizer in there. It grew slowly and there are more and more buds popping off and a few leaves showing so I am very hopeful of this one and look forward to it growing and plucking some fruit in a year or two.
