Giving my Vines a Great Start

Transplant Mix
It's always important to protect against transplant shock. This will give the roots on my vines an "immune" builder for a healthy statt.

I live in a zone 7 area in Eastern PA where there were once forests of American Chestnuts. I am excited to be part of the movement trying to bring this fantastic tree back. Ty Ty kept me informed of the shipping process and the trees came exactly when Ty Ty and UPS said they would, in great shape, and the expected size. Planting instructions were good, and I had the trees planted in my yard less than 24 hours after delivery. As mentioned by another reviewer, I would have benefited from instructions on how to install the tree shelters, but these shelters are great to make sure someone on a riding mower is alert and avoids running into the finger-diameter but nearly 5 feet tall trees. It's now 2.5 weeks after planting my bare root trees, and all 3 are leafing out nicely. I used the recommended fertilizer pack and the transplant mix and added some store bought tree and shrub soil to place around the roots in the freshly dug hole.

I received this vine in January, and it was dormant. As of April 15, 2023. It has developed plenty of little leaves and has sprung to life! I am looking forward to enjoying the fruits of my labor this fall.
