Hello, folks. The tree came well wrapped and arrived when I had asked for it to be shipped. I appreciate you holding it for me. I was surprised, though, that the main truck had been cut back and all branches pruned off. Is this the usual way to prune pecan trees? Also, the was green plastic tape wrapped around the collar of the tree. It had been there too long, and the tree had grown enough that it puffed out a bit above and below the tape. Will this hurt the tree? I was excited to find a tree of this size at this price. The tree has been planted although we have had enough rain that the ground has been soggy since Feb. I worked in some peat to try to compensate for the wet ground. I don't like to plant when the ground is so muddy, but I felt it would not be good to wait another month. I am anxious to see how it grows. I will try to update my post later this summer. Thanks for any help you can offer, and thanks for offering nice size trees at a reasonable price!
