Hard to tell at this point. Nice and tall, stocky, seems healthy, nice root system. We're in the middle of a serious cold snap here in south Louisiana, so I planted it into a 30 gallon pot and have it well protected for now.

Buy Sasafras Trees Online at Ty Ty Nursery
Yes, I want a sassafras tree so I can make my own gumbo file' and of course drink some sassafras tea in the future. I had a couple before that didn't live very long but this one seemed to have a much better root system than I remember on the other 2. It's also in a pot for the winter.

When planting our pecan tree we were concerned about the roots. The roots had been folded and some were broken. We will have to wait and see if this hurt our tree.
