Had a great race. Fantastic village and atmosphere and loved the pre race sports massage what a great idea! Struggled with the bridge at the end in the heat though! Would like the pacers to have flags so more visa men. It the 2.00 he pacer in the half was fantastic motivation :). Rubbish goodie bag great t shirt and medal. Didn't like the **** would be much better offering smoothies or fresh juice post race will be back again.

It was an amazing experience and great atmosphere. I wasn't sure i was going to enjoy it as i run on my own. And thought that at 65 years i might be too old
Will definitely do next year

Great event! Superb course...with a very challenging but stunning bridge, great facilities and convenient and easy to attend. Amazing atmosphere....thoroughly enjoyed the day!

I thought it was going to be more flat. However organisation was great and good facilities

Well organised event, just finishing a bit closer to a grassy area could be nice for a few relaxing minutes after the run.

Really enjoyable time for my first major running event, the crowds were so supportive, I don't think I stopped smiling! The free pint of lager at the end was lovely!

The route was quite challenging, and the Itchen Bridge was bigger than I realised! Plenty of water stations on the route.

Main bits of constructive feedback would be better control of starting pens, would help resolve problems with slower runners out of position at the start, which caused one heavy fall that I saw. In addition, the merging of the 10km race and the marathon, caused extra congestion which could be avoided by running the races over two days.

All in all, a great experience, thank you to the organisers!

Great atmosphere, great organisation. I really didn't like the bridge at the end, much prefer the route the other way! Also it was further than 13.1 miles, and that hill to finish was a killer. But over all it was excellent and I'll be back for the 4th time next year.

Really enjoyed the race from start to finish, I thought I would hate having to cross the Itchen Bridge twice but now I'm really glad that was part of the course. The only thing I'd say was that it was a little bit strange doing a loop at the beginning and going past where we had just started.

Loved running in this beautiful city, my home town. Just would have liked more toilets, better signage if where they are (perhaps a warning) or marahalks knowledge of where they are.

The bridge was amazing although I felt it was very harsh adding it twice and especially at the end.

Great way to see the city, lovely marshalls, great nutrition and water stops. Thank you.

Only downside was perhaps not enough water but that's hard to predict on a hot day! Otherwise a great event!

I loved it it was my third year of doing the half in southampton. After being fascinated about how anyone could run more than 5k i finished a race for life 5k in 2014 and wanted another challange and had heard about the half marathon coming to southampton for the first time back in 2015. so i decided to book up and start seeing how far i could run. i went off and did a 10k it was hard exhausting took me ages and had to stop but i did it. bit by bit i built up my strength and confidence and went further and faster. with my husband on his bike me running along side i was ready for the big day. i got a 2.05 chip time i was so pleased with the time and it was a fantastic day full of support. i started to go to southampton park runs in 2016 completed the half in a chip time of 2.57.11. in june that year i joined Totton running club. this year i got a chip time of 2.57.12 with the help of the 2.00 pacer. there was a few times i fell back then caught up again. the pacer was fab really encouraging me to keep going. i love the support you get from the crowd and from other runners it really makes you feel you're a part of something special and makes you feel like you can achieve anything if you can finish the race. the atmosphere is great with various groups and bands playing. so many sights to see on the way around. i've done a lot of races and Southampton half has got to be my personal favourite. i also really liked the route this year. it really was the half marathon back in 2015 that inspired me to take up running. now i can't seem to stop. i only gave 4 stars because i could see it was hard for the marathon runners to get pass the half marathon runners. and it did slow me up at times having to tuck in to the left. But other then that no complaints.

Signs could have been better from the race village to the starting line. Not a flat coarse, which was good. The guys on bikes leading the full marathon runners were very rude to some of the runners doing the half. I.e. Get out of the way faster runners need to get through. In quite an aggressive manner. I was fine with it but a lady wax really upset by it.
