Thank you for a great experience. This was the first ever race i have entered and i now look foward to entering more. The day was well organised, with a fantastic atmosphere thanks to the amazing support from the volunteers and public who lined the roads. Only suggestion is like myself others struggled to run the Itchen bridge so near the end of the race . So may i suggest it's run nearer the begining. Great job everyone

It was a very enjoyable race and the route was easy to follow. I also really like the fact that we can watch the video of us crossing the finish line and find the photos of ourselves really easily. My only issue was that we were constantly being shouted at to keep to one side of the path to let the marathon runners come through on their second lap. I appreciate that they need to come through and are running faster than us however it made the running for us half marathon runners more stressful than it needed to be as we were always checking behind us to make sure we weren't going to get knocked out by a marathon runner sprinting past and it also made me feel like we weren't as valued as them because they were prioritised.

Overall another fantastic experience but there seemed to be mere seconds between the 10k warmup and start of the run. By the time we moved from the warmup area runners were already on their way leaving us with no time to complete some further stretches.

Pre race was well organised. Dreaded the thought of bag drop but it worked really well, everything was well signposted. Missed the start of the 10k by five minutes as everyone was still walking over from the warm up. So no real chance to get into place. Only criticism is would have been nice to have a water station sooner. Fabulous marshalls though and well done to everyone who help it run as it did!

Having run the half marathon in 2015, 2016 and 2017 I can say that I did not enjoy it as much as the previous years, the main reason is that it was in reverse. The hills seem to go on and on and the bridge at the end made me want to throw myself off if it.
The other problem I had this year (and not noticed on previous years) is that towards the end there were a lot of 10k runners walking the remainder of the course. I may as well have been dodging bullets.
Having said that, I will still be running the half next year, the **** at the end was great, as was running through the stadium.

Generally a great race. Organisation, bag drop etc. good. Support great. Course mostly great although Northam bridge stretch a low point. Would have preferred sports bottle tops at water stations but that's a personal preference. Communication with half marathon runners to keep left to let marathon runners through could have been done with less grumpy shouting - perhaps beforehand and with signs. I was only overtaken by a handful of Marathon runners but was shouted at by grumpy sounding cyclists for half the race. Still a great race though and the **** at the end was very welcome.

Post race massage was great, fab idea. Nice the course was other way round felt like a new but familiar route, however merging with 10k runners at end was awful. At fastest point of most people's halfs not okay to be swerving in and out of rows of middle aged mums barely jogging and often walking, felt like I added another half a mile in horizontal movement.
