Another year another great race. The Southampton half is superbly organised event. Although not a PB course it is certainly an eyecatching route with a run through Southampton FC stadium and a run over the iconic Itchen bridge. If I had one criticism it is awfully busy on the bridge with the 3 race distances all converging together.

Beautiful day, very well run and organised, loved the warm up dance session and the efficiency of the ending. I would at there was a small amount of confusion towards the end where it wasn't clear which way 10k runners should go and which way the marathon runners should go.

This was my first half marathon and I really enjoyed it. There was a great atmosphere and everything was very well organised. The route was full of interest. I especially liked the bit that runs alongside the river and it was such a priviledge to run actually inside St. Mary's stadium. I can't honestly say that I enjoyed running over the Itchen Bridge and back, but I did feel a tremendous sense of achievement when I did it!
On a practical level there were plenty of toilets so no need to queue for hours. I love the medal and the t-shirt and it was a welcome surprise to get a pint of cold alcohol **** at the finish.
All in all, it was a great day. Thank you very much.

Well organised event, easy to find and not too busy. I don't think the water stations were very well spaced out, it would be better to have one just before the Itchen bridge as there was a long gap between the one before the bridge and after. Also easier to put the medal in the goody bag as I had to go back and get one as it wasn't obvious they were being handed out separately.

I loved the race and the atmosphere was amazing the route going through St Mary's stadium was fantastic and a total surprise to me. The only thing I would like to see next year would be a mile marker at every mile, I'm not sure I saw one every mile but it may have been that I just missed where they were.

The day started great with lovely support staff who were well organised. I was doing the 10km race which was the last race to start that morning. The race started great with fantastic support from the crowd and the marshals were brilliant. Sadly the first water stop was around 7.5km (EVERY OTHER 10km I had ever done had them at 5km). I found this very disappointing as it was a hot day. Due to my lack of hydration my time was a little slow so when I did finish I was handed an XL tee shirt (I am a size 10) . No appologie was given and no explanation. The lack of water followed by this "congratulations greeting " for me turned what started out as a promising run into a poor experience and probably not one I would entre again.
Please do not entre me for the free place or hoodie as I do not want it. I would have prefered water at 5km and the right sized tee shirt.

Great event. Loved all the build up to the race on Facebook and the merchandise was good. I love my event training top. I wore it to race on Sunday. Amazing crowd support but shame about the hills. Highly recommend this event
