I ran the 10k and thought it was a good course, nice mixture of scenery, strong presence of spectators without any hassle and nice and flat apart from the Itchen Bridge which seemed to sort the boys from the men. There were a few things i found tedious however. I was a little late to the start line due to the warm up (my own fault) and found myself towards the back of the pack, around a 55 pace when I was aiming for 45. I thought i would be able to slip through once over the start line but the narrow barriers meant I was walking for at least a minute and a half through a very clustered start, you should consider making it wider. The km markers were either few and far between or very difficult to spot, I only managed to spot 1km and 6km, more frequent markers or more visible would be helpful. Lastly why in the world was it a 10.56km course not a 10k course exactly, this seems completely ridiculous to me and very tedious to anyone trying to run a PB. All in all, it was a good race just with a few frustrating features. Thanks

Great event shame about the big mix up with the numbers

Really good route for the half, got to see so much of Southampton. Only rating 4 stars as it was really hard to pace when it joined onto the 10k and really busy over the bridge which was a shame.

The organisation was great but maybe there is a less wasteful solution to giving out water bottles. maybe paper cups would be better as they can then be recycled. Good for the planet and your publicity!

I didn't enjoy the course as much as last year. Some the course was not as supported by spectators as last year which could have been because of the route. I did not like the itchen bridge being at the end of the course especially as the first 4 miles or so was hilly. The start was quite a distant away from the race village and toilets. Perhaps if this is the case next year some toilets could be provided by the start. On a positive note I thought that the bag drop was well run and they seemed to know what they were doing.

Really great course ... a nice mix of city, parks and bridges over the Itchen. Cool to run through the stadium at 10 miles. One of my favourite Halfs.

Starting the second lap of the marathon I ran in to the back of the 10k race crowd. Hundreds of slower runners which was very difficult to work through until they split off. Having worked so hard to get a good for age time and narrowly missed out I can't help think that this was a contributing factor. How can this have been planned in this way?

It was a nice course with lots of twists and turns. Supporters and organisers were brilliant but having a full, half and 10k meet up on the final 3 miles was awful. To many to get through so you get really held up.

Good race and vibe. Could of done with knowing a bit more about logistics, road closures and starting areas/ pens designated amd assinged to bib colour would have been good. Also the course was pretty narrow at the beginning couple of miles so caused a lot of congestion.

For half marathon the actual location of waterstation 4 is too far away from waterstation 3. And the its location does not agree with the map on the information sheet we received. As a result, I feel very dehydrated on the Itchen Bridge and there is no other source of water supply from spectators for example.

A great course with some fantastic crowd support. I took a star off however as the start for the HM was very poorly marshalled, with lots of slower runners in the faster marked areas. This needs to be controlled for the future - my first 2 kms as a result were 30s slower than they should have been. It meant the race started very frustratingly for myself and it took some time to settle and enjoy it.

Great experience at the marathon super friendly supportive marshals and plenty of water supplies couldn't fault it at all. And the free **** at the end finished off a superb day
