Had a great day!! It was well organised and will definately be attending next year. One thing that could be improved is more water stops. A couple of times I could have done with a drink which couldn't come soon enough.

Fantastic event and amazing support from the people of Southampton. The course was great and didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did for a first half.

The event was very well organised from the initial registration on line to the bag collection at the end of the event. The personnel involved were all extremely helpful and friendly; the course was good to run and there were sufficient water stations. It was also lovely to have so many local residents cheering us on and supplying us with endless energy sweets. I liked the course as it was very varied and my brother was very excited to be running through the 'Saints' football stadium! the medal is good and the finishers tee-shirt is great and I did enjoy the free pint at the end! Thank you everyone for a very enjoyable experience. An extremely well organised and executed event.

One of the best experiences i've had. Scarecely have I seen so much enthusiasm, effort and mutual encouragement from so many people. Good to know that a lot of needy people have been helped by the money raised.

The atmosphere was great and enjoyed the warm up. Seemed to be some entertainment organised for after the race and refreshments offered throughout the race were very good. T shirt and medal are good. Could've had a few more things in the goodie bag or a parking voucher for the money paid to enter as thought it was quite expensive.

As my first half marathon I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the day. There was a great atmosphere and it was great to be part of. A few comments on improvements / suggestions:
1) Encourage coffee shops / venues to be open from 8am - we were looking for coffee and breakfast from 8.20am and only starbucks was open. Mettricks Guildhall Square was open but not Mettrick Bargate - businesses missed an opportunity.
2) On the FAQ's page - have a section which is about the start - where to go and how people will be organised - to avoid the 'sheep' effect and everyone just following everyone else! I was unsure as to how the morning would be organised so was feeling anxious when I needn't have if I knew how people would be called / organised to the start.
3) Itchen Bridge - ouch! Amazing experience but ouch. I think it is better at the end so please keep the route the same for 2018.
4) The last mile was the hardest and this is where I felt I needed more noise and support. Get Oxford Street Traders and below bar venues more involved to support people. There was a need for mile makers /marshals on that last mile.
Nothing bad or negative to say - just opportunities for improving experience for runners and spectators.
I will beat the bridge in 2018!!

Good event, hot and hilly with plenty of support. Unfortunately being from a rival city I found the air a little toxic which affected performance, and the un-atmospheric stadium gave me a rash. Abuse from crowd was greatly received and returned. Can't wait for next year.

Enjoyed but still think an event costing that much should be able to find a way to avoid a two lap course. Not the best goody bag I've seen. Some marshalls great. Some disinterested. How did you make Itchen Bridge steeper second time around ;-) Would do it again in fairness.

Disappointed with the mile event . I booked my son into compete in this event as he had done the previous year . There are a number of issues which we were not happy with.
The event was not the advertised Mile distance as my son completed this almost 2 minutes quicker than the previous year as did most of the competitors . I noticed it was later rebranded as a fun run this was not the original event title
The start was very disorganised transferring from one pen to another and people being pushed to the back instead of following a sensible route to allow all competitors to follow each other
When asked about the route we were told by several organisers that they did not know the route in fact one lady said I think they just run up and down the start line !!
At the end of the event my son was given a T-shirt which was too small and was told it was one size and a plastic medal which we were given out to a three-year-old
Given the fact that we paid £7 entry for this event I am very disappointed. At least have T-shirts of various sizes and a metal metal !

This was my 7th Half Marathon but my 1st Southampton one. have been out of training and running for over a year due to illness and new job shifts so had done NO training. Silly I know but,,, however, I found the encouragement and general friendliness of everyone involved and also of the spectators so motivating! It definitely made it so enjoyable. I will 100% be signing up for next year.

Confusion over the direction of the start and the length of time it took to get through the end funnel for medals, t-shirts & bags, too long for small children are the only complaints.

Having just one water station for a 10k is fine but it needed to have been placed earlier in the course, especially when the heat is taken into consideration.

Excellent organisation, friendly marshals, great atmosphere, good facilities and the Beat the Bridge challenge! I'll be back for more.
To improve? Very small number of sections a bit narrow. This was ok with the number of participants, but if the numbers increase, it may be a problem in future.
Well done all involved!

2 laps was not ideal, it's painful to run 13 miles only to be back where you started, with 13 more miles to go. I wish the run was counter-clockwise like last year, but not a big deal. The event was enjoyable overall.
