Purchased twelve of these books …gave them to some of my Grand Children for future matured consumption. Best simplified book of the Apocalypse. Anthony

Not my kind of decoration

It was a hit with the recipients. I’ll reorder twelve more next year. Anthony

Very nice!

Very attractive. A nice addition to my icon wall.

It was a gift and the recipient was extremely pleased.

It’s lovely! I wish I had ordered more for our church bookstore. Hopefully it will be available next fall.

Beautiful card; perfectly suited to the Feast.

This has been our most popular car visor clip, especially to our younger parishioners. Many have been purchased for those who are not of the Orthodox Faith. This is a wonderful gift item and does not have to be attached to a car visor. It can used on a desk to attach various paper notes, etc. St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church Bookstore, Bellingham, Washington.

I thought they were well done wish it had the church calendar as a part of the calendar.

Stephen De Young's "God is a Man of War: The Problem of Violence in the Old Testament" is an excellent read. Less than 150 pages, the book covers a lot of significant Scriptural themes and theological questions concisely, yet with ample historical context, Biblical content, and appropriate (largely pastoral) sensitivity to the topics at hand. I found it insightful and well done, and I think it is a helpful resource for Christians and non-Christians alike who are pursuing many of the questions which this book addresses.

Syria Crucified by Zachary Wingerd and Brad Hoff was eye-opening. I'll admit that I was very ignorant of the situation in Syria before reading it, so I did not begin the book with any preconceptions. Each chapter is devoted to a person or family who lived in Syria during the war and goes through their personal experiences while also giving the reader more information about the conflict and the Syrian way of life before things took a turn for the worse.

The common thread throughout the book was resilience in the face of danger. Whether it was the monks who stayed at their monastery, refusing to abandon their spiritual home, or the young doctor who tore up his ID to avoid being coerced into joining the enemy, each story was filled with the quiet bravery and deep faith of the Syrian Christians in the face of danger and persecution. No one in the book was untouched by the loss and trauma that war brings, but they persevered and did not lose faith. As someone who has been through trauma and been diagnosed with PTSD, I was in awe of their strength.

Another aspect of the book I found valuable was the knowledge of Syria that the authors and their interviewees share with their readers. There were descriptions that inspired, such as the image of Muslims venerating saints and joining in the Paschal procession alongside Christians. But then there was also the underlying tension described by others, knowing they could not progress in their careers as Christians and always feeling a distance from Muslim friends and acquaintances. As someone who knew nothing about Syria before reading Syria Crucified other than that we intervened in a civil war years ago, this was very enlightening. At the same time, it was also discouraging to read about what our American government supported. After finishing the book, I feel much more informed about the nuances of the Syrian conflict.

I would definitely recommend this book! I think it would especially resonate with Orthodox Christians and those who are interested in a different perspective on the Syrian war, but honestly I think it is important for everyone to read Syria Crucified.

The Winter Pascha is the perfect devotional for the 40-day Nativity Fast. It walks you through the life of the Church as you prepare for Christ’s birth. Reading it is a great way to step back from the hustle and bustle and focus on the true meaning of the Season.

I deeply appreciate the variety of Mother of Our Lord icons in the calendar, each of which highlights an important reality of our beloved Theotokos.

Beautiful

I love the icons of the Theotokos in your 2022 calendar. Many of the icons of the Theotokos in this calendar, I have never seen before. Thank you for this calendar.

"Without continuous reference to the Theopokos in the history of salvation and in the life of the Church, there can be no genuine devotion or theology." - from the Mother of the Light Prayers to the Theotokos.

Alan

I was touched by the author’s sincerity, openness, and honesty in addressing our humanity in all its frailty, and finding true healing through faith in Christ and His love. It is an ongoing challenge and struggle, but one that enables us to truly become a healing presence.

Great calendar design and all the important feasts are mentioned

This is a good cookbook. Some of the recipes do seem a little elaborate for Lenten cooking, though.

It's beautiful and precisely as pictured.
