Thinking Orthodox: Understanding and Acquiring the Orthodox Christian Mind
I'm about 1/3 of the way through it and I LOVE it. It's so well written and easy for non-scholars to understand.

Thinking Orthodox: Understanding and Acquiring the Orthodox Christian Mind
I just started it and had a hard time putting it down. It is excellent and unusual. As a convert, I see that I was “Thinking Orthodox” as a child without even knowing it. I can’t recommend this too highly. And to top it off. It is easy to read, is well researched and has short chapters.

Thinking Orthodox: Understanding and Acquiring the Orthodox Christian Mind
Excellent from an obviously erudite author. She helps put so many issues in context including historically. It is a very good learning experience about my own background.
Thank you!

The Holy Angels
I am almost finished with the book and have found it very edifiying. The writing is topnotch. What has surprised (and grieved!) me most is the number of biblical stories she includes....and all this time I had completely read past the angelic presence!
I purchased this book for the Antiochian Orthodox Women's book club selection. This is the best one in several years.

Have just begun a preliminary scan and read through. It is exciting , deeply researched, well written and a profoundly inspiring message about a religion that I love.

Seven Holy Women: Conversations with Saints and Friends
I bought a copy as a Christmas gift for our Koumbara. I flipped through the book when it arrived and had to buy one for myself and 2 other people! The stories of these wonderful women saints are inspiring. There was a lot that I didnt know about these women. Then I was surprised at the end of each chapter, because there were questions for you to reflect upon to live more like these Godly saints. It could be used as a devotional and makes the perfect gift for someone special in your life.

The Orthodox Study Bible, Ancient Faith Edition, Leathersoft: Ancient Christianity Speaks to Today’s World
This Bible is excellent. The footnotes are very informative. I purchased hardcover edition in February 2019 and I use it the most when studying. The leather edition is so beautiful that I am very careful when I turn the pages. When I read an entire book of the Bible, I usually use this version.

Paradise and Utopia 2-Book Set (The Age of Paradise, The Age of Division)
I have read THE AGE OF PARADISE and found it very informative. I learned a good deal that I had not known. However, I was somewhat disappointed that the author did not provide more information on more of the early Church Fathers. He could have provided more information on early Church Fathers such as St. Athanasius and how he helped with compiling the Bible.

Renewing You: A Priest, a Psychologist, and a Plan
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a great mix of psychology and spirituality. The writers flowed between each other and provided insights for the heart and mind.

Everyday Wonders: Stories of God’s Providence
This book is a blessing! Getting to hear the Reverend's story about his own experiences in Alaska, about the everyday saints he meets, and to see how God works in miraculous ways every day touched my heart... and it will yours too! It really was beautiful to see how Orthodoxy flourished amongst the native community in Alaska. It is a sweet reminder of the universality of the true faith and the power of our traditions in any day and age.
The book is very warm and personal. As you listen in wonder, to Rev., you will feel as if you are sitting across from him at a table, enjoying his tales and a good cup of coffee! A great listen for all.

The Broken Wheel: The Triumph of Saint Katherine
Nothing short of amazing! Saint Catherine’s synaxarion by Mr. Galbriel Wilson, especially in the graphic novel form, is very engaging, with appealing illustrations, and short and to-the-point text/dialogue. I showed it to my Sunday School students (grades 5 and 6) and they wouldn’t budge from their seats before it ended, even after our class time was over. Next time I’ll show them the Cross and the Dear. Beautiful work, Mr. Wilson, we are looking forward to enjoying more of your graphic synaxaria!

The Lion and the Saint
This audiobook was such a wonderful one to listen to. We received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review, and we feel very fortunate because it was so fun. My chidlren and I listened together to the first chapter right away, and all chuckled at the line, “Besides, I could always eat her later.” My 9 year old proceeded to finish listening to the entire book that day. I did as well. It was a pleasure to listen to the author read the tale, and there was no difficulty in distinguishing characters as she read. It is a tale the whole family will enjoy together again and again.
In this book, the position of narrator passes back and forth between the lion (who becomes Jordanes) and the baboon (Astennu). Their relationship with one another and with all creation changes and becomes something more beautiful throughout their life together, especially after they meet St. Gerasim. Through their time together, we learn more of what it means to be “particular” (not in the sense of being choosy, but of being chosen and called by name).
I appreciated the tale of becoming, and of the importance of looking beyond what we expect to see what might be. My child noticed that the monks in the tale did not quite believe St. Gerasim, and that their trust of Jordanes took time. He stated, “They should have listened to him,” and it offered us the opportunity to talk about trust and obedience. We observed together that Jordanes was able to become something more than what was expected of him as a lion, and how service and obedience allowed him to maintain that. We also observed that in the closest of relationships, there is always the element of danger as well (in the case of lion and baboon and man, there is the opportunity of one being eaten by another, but in our every day relationships, there are also dangers to overcome).
In regards to being “particular,” this theme resonated throughout the book as we heard about a particular man/saint who inspires others to become particular as well. Perhaps we, too, can become more than what we are.

Prayer Bracelet, with "Tears of the Mother of God" (from Serbia)
It's o.k. Much smaller than I expected. It is meant for a small wrist, perhaps even a child.
Response from Ancient Faith Store
Dec 15, 2020
While there is some variation in size due to the custom nature of the bracelets, if they are rolled (not stretched) over the fingers and onto the wrist, they will easily fit most wrists. Please call customer service service with any questions or concerns.
