Really like this prayer book. It has hourly prayers and prayers you don't normally see for example: Prayers before entering and leaving Church, Hourly Prayers for every day from St. John Chrysostom and so much more. Highly recommend.

great card

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the words of Abba Matta on the audiobook, Words for Our Lives: The Spiritual Words of Matthew the Poor, narrated by Kristina Wenger. This book, for me, was perfectly suited to the audiobook format. His words and teachings were divided up into topical sections and so I could listen to one section, say, while preparing dinner, and then stop and easily resume while driving to the grocery store, for example. It was also helpful for me to read it in snippets because the words of Abba Matta were so beautiful and illuminating that I did not want to rush through it.
The fact that this man lived the Christian life in recent history is what really strikes me. It is so comforting that in this day and age a person can decide, through the influence of the Holy Spirit, to follow his calling and commit his life 100% to Christ, just like the saints and martyrs of the first centuries did. And it's even more wonderful because then his wisdom is shed through the lens of this modern world and not from say, the fourth century. One story in particular about a relative of his who, through his own fault, was failing medical school illustrates how this contemporary elder can shed spiritual wisdom onto a modern and perhaps mundane issue. Abba Matta did not rebuke his relative for being lazy but rather encouraged him to pray and work and all would be well. That last part is what really struck me. How could he say that? Only a man of tremendous faith could make such a promise.
I can already tell that I will be listening to Abba Matta's words over and over again because they put me in such a positive frame of mind. They really help to reorient my thoughts and allow me to believe that love and hope and forgiveness are all within my grasp.

A must read for every Orthodox Christian. Really helpful for a convert.

A must read for every Orthodox Christian, especially converts.

My 7 year old son likes this book. The plethora of pictures helps keep him occupied until he's old enough to read the regular liturgy book.

Beautiful as always!

Beautiful cards as always!

Perfect and colorful cards for Pascha.
Hard to find these days and fortunate to find the Ancient Faith store.

This is a wonderfully presented book, with a personal touch and insights from the author. The introduction provides guidance on how to read the Psalter and a section of accessible wisdom after each Kathisma along with a section for note taking make this a book I read daily

It was so nice having the newer version of this book. My original was from 1977 and was a gift. Needless to say, it had begun to fall apart. In this newer book I did not have to search for pages for some of the services. They were in the actual service.

This book is amazing! So worth the buy. There are no words that can compare to the beauty of Saint John Chrysostom.

This book is great for young kids. I bought it for my son who’s name is Spiros he is still to young to read chapter books, but when he is able I know he will enjoy this treasured story of the wonder worker saint Spiridon! What a blessing to have books like these for our children.

This book was worth every penny I could read it a million times over. The author is so eloquent in her writing. I am blessed to have come across this read. My quarantine time will always be cherished from reading this book.

It made following the services much easier to follow & more meaningful. I appreciated having the prayers said quietly by the priests available.

I am so thankful to have this amazing resource as part of my spiritual growth continuing journey with the Holy Trinity!

The service books helped so much since we could not be physically present during Holy Week.

Beautiful!

Beautiful inside and out!
Even though it is a paperback, it has a very luxurious feel. The text is simply written so the reader is able to get a good understanding of the text. I believe this is an investment piece to be enjoyed for many years.

Extremely valuable, especially in these times. Received it just in time for Great and Holy week when most churches were closed. I found it much more useful than live-streams for participating in the services of this holy time with the rest of the Body of Christ.
