If you're reading this review you've already selected yourself as someone who is trying to improve their life, spiritually. Fr Evan's latest book continues his beautiful effort to provide tools for the faithful to help in that journey. Drawing on decades of experience and thousands of encounters with parishioners, he has pulled back the curtain and provided an "insider's" insight into the areas which can trip up a Christian, and also insight into things which can aid them in their struggle. Different teaching methods have been coined "pal on a path" or "sage on a stage." With Fr Evan you are privileged to learn from the best of both. The sections on Scripture and Confession are very good and reaffirming in these practices. The section on Time was excellent, and I had trouble putting the book down until I finished it. I would highly recommend his book for a better understanding of our Orthodox faith, and for tools to help us in this difficult, but hopefully soul-saving, journey.

I used this curriculum in my church school class last year with Gr.4/5 students and it was fantastic. The curriculum was catered towards helping people like me who aren't teachers deliver engaging lessons by providing accessible and user friendly material and prompts on to how to use the curriculum. Acts was a great book to study with the kids as it is has so many great stories and lessons for kids this age and the activities helped to reinforce the content of the stories. My students absolutely LOVED the skits that were often part of the lessons. I highly recommend this as church school material. I look forward to further material that will be produced by this author.

I am very pleased with my purchase. Good quality. Timely arrival. Will continue to order from you.

Great small account of wedding service in OCA

These are beautiful cards that I use mostly for sympathy cards. I also love the Bible cover cards which I use for the same purpose.

I am an Inquirer at Father Evan's parish. I come from a protestant background. Orthodoxy seems so foreign and complicated to outsiders. Father Evan, through toolkit 1 and 2, makes a seemingly complicated faith one that all can participate in. In this book specifically, I found the section about confession to be incredibly helpful, as most Protestants don't go to confession or know anything about it. It is something that once seemed very intimidating, but now the stigma around it has been subdued, and is something I want to participate in.

A very small number of pages but a wealth of knowledge and help.

A lovely and well-crafted compact prayer rope that I love to keep with me during the day. Feeling it is a great reminder to stay in prayer and the smaller size is perfect for not getting bunched up in my pocket!

This book has been very helpful to me in my journey from Protestantism to orthodoxy!

Amazing especially the insight into the relevance of time

I loved it and i fully recommend this item

Absolutely beautiful! I was so happy to find an icon featuring Fr. Nicola after reading Apostle to the Plains. Perfect!

Thank you! This is one of my favorite Akathists to read for my four kids and two goddaughters. I have always read it on a stapled booklet I made with printed sheets or the online version read from my phone or laptop. Now I love this little copy in my icon corner.

As a new person to orthodoxy, I love the format of the Saints in this book. Each state gets their own page. It has great fun facts on there. It has the dates and other important information. iIt's a perfect snapshot view for the saints. I'm sure you can find other resources to dive deeper into Saints, but as an overview, I couldn't recommend it more‼️

This Diptych is so lovely that just to look at it inspires a prayer. I have gotten more than one and each was just as beautiful and well made. JMJ

The prayer book is helping me pray more.

This book by Fr. Evan Armatas is so simple and yet so profound! It focuses on three areas. The first two are basics of the Eastern Christian life: Scripture and Confession. His thoughts are pragmatic and breathe new life into these foundations of our faith that too often become dull to us. He addresses practicals of how to read Scripture and go to confession, with a question and answers about the mystery as well.

In the last chapter, Fr. Evan addresses the gift that time is and how the Christian perspective on time is meant to be different. He comments that too often our concept of time is not changed as Christians. In Christ, “the eternal touches ordinary time,” changing the reality of our lives. The insights in this chapter regarding sin and suffering were ones I think I will find myself coming back to again and again. While the first two chapters were insightful, the theology of time presented was superlative!

I would highly recommend this book, especially for anyone living the faith who wants to rediscover the treasures in what they already know and are living! It would be a great tool for those learning the faith as well.

I have just started reading, and so far I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a keeper!

Thank you AF

I am so grateful for this book.
