I ordered a coin from Chards and was contacted about 2 days after my order to inform me there was a problem. The coin I ordered the box it came in was damaged and the coin itself has a mark on it. I wouldn't of been that bothered about the box but with the coin having a mark on it, that would devalue it quite a lot especially since its a proof coin. I was offered a £20 reduction but decided to not go ahead with the order. Thankfully my money was returned but in the generic email correspondence I was sent about my return it did not state how many days it would take for my refund to come through.

Good morning, firstly we read all feedback and take it on board where we can. I am sorry to hear you are not happy with your recent experience dealing with Chards but it is hard to know how we could improve as we contacted you as soon as we carried out a quality control check when we picked your items. We have no control over the condition of the coins we receive direct from the mint and thoroughly check all our coins before they are dispatched. You placed your order on March 14th and we contacted you the following day on March 15th as soon as we had processed your order. We appreciate it is disappointing not to receive the item you had paid for but we pride ourselves on the quality of the products we sell, hence the reason we phoned you rather than posting out a substandard product. Apologies for not being given a definite time scale for the refund to be paid back to you, unfortunately this can vary when dealing with different banks.
