Great for mounting a red dot or DBAL IR laser. Must have for a legit Mark 12 build. One thing to watch out for is making sure the front section of your scope tube is long enough to give you clearance for the mount and rail. If you try to put it on a really compact scope the picatinny rail will run into the elevation turret in the rear or the objective bell in the front. I tried it on a USO 3-12X44 first and it was very close to fitting, but it was a bit too short to accommodate this ring cap.

The locking tabs are a little bit tricky on these, you have to press down pretty hard in the center of the tab to get it to disengage. Once you get them in place where you want them they're pretty solid though. Very nice rail covers for my Mark 12 build.
