The break never got tight on the Savage 110 ba barrel, threads failed, may have to drill and tap, used thread locker which I was hoping not to mess with. Hope to use it soon.

are you sure you have the correct thread pitch? Have you tighten the hex bolt? Most unusual to have a poor fit.
