I am over the moon that I found a ready to go, AE contoured 12.5 inch barrel. I was honestly stressing about finding the correct barrel, all of the correct parts and sending it off to get the custom work done (that means long lead times). Now, I just have to wait a short bit and the barrel will be at my door. The description says this is a bit expensive and I disagree. What a fantastic deal for a barrel you can simply screw onto your upper. All of the guess work and sourcing parts is done. Again, I can't emphasize how awesome it is that these exist!

Mk18 complete 10.3" URG - Colt / Daniel Defense - upper receiver group
Wanted this to be five stars. Fit and finish are excellent. Close inspection showed what appeared to be a reddish-brown stain or residue inside the star chamber. When a simple swab with oiled cotton patch did not remove it, and a chamber brush only got part of it, concluded it must be rust or similar deposit. A more abrasive method did remove it, but left scratches and a few small gouge marks on the radius area of the chamber. Shouldn't affect function. Maybe should have been left alone and accepted as a factory blem, but when I pay over $1500 and wait five weeks for a new upper I expect it to be spotless inside and out.

I know we had our chief armorer walk you through that. Barrels are dirty places, but you have a chrome lined barrel, so I bet you did not scratch the chamber. Colt and Daniel Defense barrels can be thrown in the mud and sand and keep working. Glad the fit and finish were to your liking. I know you will be fine.
