It has always been my dream to get this Colt 6944 Rifle with pinned and weld work, Charlie’s did an awesome job, and I finally have it. I always wanted to get this rifle with as many Colt original parts as possible. Thanks to Charlie’s, this was accomplished! The Rifle came with C marked BCG, MPC marked stractor, C marked upper, 13629 marked barrel, F4 marked grip. Buttstock was not an original Colt but I had plans to replace that with an LMT stock anyways so no worries here. Thank you Charlie’s for providing great products and an awesome customer service experience!

Purchased this upper for my work issued registered lower. The build looked great! On 11/17/2023, I went to the range for a zero and reliability/function fire. On my 18th round, the upper began to fail (failures to feed, every round, no lock back on last round). I field stripped the upper and saw that the bolt carrier gas-key was never staked and is loose. Even my previous issued Windham Weaponry (lowest bidder) had a staked gas carrier, which is currently running and the upper is running great. So now…what can we do about that failed bolt…? The build overall is very well done, just disappointed, for the cost of that upper, and the failed bolt carrier. That would have been very embarrassing at a department qualification…

I would give this product a 3 star review as the swivel rattles when I installed it on my BCM SOCOM 16" barrel. If you have the same issue there is a fix, I found a aluminum crush I use for when I change my transmission oil and cut it to a small size and painted it black so it won't shine. it is just the right thickness to shove it in the top where there is a gap with a flat tip punch and now it is very snug! Hope you as a purchaser can find a solution so you can be happy with your purchase and not have to buy another from from Colt or FN that is twice as much.

We have had customers tell us it is an excellent fit and some who have had problems. I know BCM barrels are not the same as Colt either, so hard to judge. Thanks for the honest feedback.

Retro A1 723 Carbine barrel - skinny profile - 14.7" with pinned flash hider
I was really excited when I found this barrel. It was everything I was looking for to complete my "early" 723 project, with an A1 upper. As it turned out, this barrel was assembled in a more modern format with a Crush Washer instead of Peel Washers which was my intention. No problem though, I just made a later version on a A2 Field Sight (A1/C7) upper that also had M4 feed ramps to match the barrel. I love the look of the pencil barrel & Field Sight upper. Two small notes regarding the flash hider... One, the pin used for the "pin/weld" was quire noticeably protruding out of the flash hider. You can't notice it unless you look at the underside though. Second, the finish is a shiny black which looks odd on the dull, dark gray barrel. My two remedies were to grind the pin smooth to the surface, and I hit the flash hider with some Colt Gray finish. The project is now complete. I plan on buying another 723 barrel and perhaps with a Pell Washer'd flash hider??? :)

thanks for the feedback. We have since been updated by Cadex, that only the older McMillan receivers need this lug. Current production McMillan lugs work fine. Sorry for the confusion.
