H&R M16A1 Retro Lower Receiver anodized gray, stripped
Yes this was expensive, but it looks great on my M16A1 clone build. I started this build in the early 80's with mostly Colt A1 parts which were easier to get then. The one place I had to compromise was on the lower receiver. My original build was based on an SGW lower that was black and did not match my Colt upper. Decided to redo the build using this lower. It came out great, I'm in the process of refinishing a set of surplus handguards and an early style A1 buttstock. The M16A1 I was issued in the 25th ID ('78-'81) still had the early buttstock without the trap door. I am hoping I can locate my old weapons card. I can't remember if the rack # is on it, if it is I will replicate the rack # on the stock. OK, I cheated a little, I did install a Geissle SSA trigger. I tried using my USGI trigger group, the SGW receiver had a little post to keep the selector from going to the auto position.
