All Natural Vermont Holiday Turkey
I’m not a fan of turkey because usually the breast meat dries out before the legs are cooked. Not this bird!
We received a 10.4 lb turkey and I thawed it, stuffed the cavity with homemade stuffing, sprinkled poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper on top, and placed it in a ceramic covered baker with carrots and a cup of water in a 350 degree oven. In 2.5 hours it was cooked and a gorgeous crispy brown. There was plenty of juices to make 2 cups of gravy and while I was carving, I ate a piece of skin. The flavor completely took me by surprise- this was not an average bird. Wow! Great gravy, juicy breast meat, and raves from the family.

I've been the Thanksgiving cook in my family as long as I can remember. I've prepared many, many turkeys. According to my 30 year old son, the Heartstone bird was the best I ever made!

Though the weather put a damper on plans to deep fry one bird and smoke the other was able to smoke both two different flavor profiles and both came out amazing! Second year getting birds from here and will not be the last!

Received the Vermont Turkey frozen solid put it into the fridge and had plenty of time to thaw properly. Spatchcocked the turkey and put it in my smoker for 4.5 hours at 250 degrees after an 18 hour brine. The best turkey ever!

My role is the cook for all family dinners. I became a customer of Farmer Dan about a year ago. When I saw he was offering an all natural turkey we ordered one for Thanksgiving. I did my usual brining method and cooked it at 300 degrees and it came out perfect. The flavor was excellent and many of my family agreed with me that this was the best turkey we have had over the last thirty years. Thank you Farmer Dan! (Please consider support his and other small farms!)

I used your directions to cook our 14 lb. turkey and it was probably the easiest and best turkey I have served in over 40 years. Juicy inside and crisp skin! Thawed precisely when your directions said it would. Five stars and I will order again, of course!
