This thing cut me. Its nice but the lock system is sticky even with wearing it down. Good materials for the price but i think benchmade has gotten too long in the tooth

Good Material, good action, i live the geometry of the blade awesome choke on it

Best knife for my kayak daypack! Great size, yet still very light!

Love the knife. Sharp out the box, very fidgety, can't stop playing with it. Shipping was quick and i liked the free shipping which alot of companies don't offer.

To me, the Skeletool CX stands as the closest thing on the market to the platonic ideal for a minimalist pliers-based multitool. It has a basic multitool toolset—screwdriver, pliers, wire cutters, and knife—but it is executed in a way that elevates the Skeletool CX above its peers.

The screwdriver takes the form of Leatherman's proprietary bit exchanger and out of the box, the Skeletool CX comes with two double-ended flat bits (#1 and #2 Phillips, and 1/4" and 3/16" slotted). The bit exchanger platform potentially increases the Skeletool's versatility as a bit driver when paired with the aftermarket Leatherman Bit Kit (and that increases further with the addition of a Leatherman ratcheting bit extension).

The pliers feature excellent jaw alignment and apposition, although it is important to keep in mind that the Skeletool CX's pliers are best suited for light- and medium-duty tasks due to the weight-reducing cutouts in the jaws and relatively small pivot. It is no substitute for a Leatherman Surge or Super Tool 300 (or even a Wave+/Charge+) in terms of its pliers and wirecutting capabilities, and forcing it to do things it isn't really designed for such as cutting 3mm piano wire or stranded wire rope can permanently misalign its jaws.

But what really sets the Skeletool CX apart is its knife. Most multitools in its price range are equipped with knives in a basic stainless steel like 420HC or even 5Cr15 or 3Cr13: okay for occasional cutting tasks, but their wear resistance won't really hold up to extended cutting. By contrast, the Skeletool CX comes with a reasonably thinly-ground blade in 154CM, a stainless steel with a chemistry that bestows it with significantly better edge retention. In fact, the combination of the Skeletool CX's light weight (for a multitool), excellent ergonomics, and excellent blade steel make it a reasonable replacement for a dedicated, premium folding knife.

Product is very good

I am a big fan of HoK’s “back in stock” notification feature. I waited for months for this knife to show up. Available stock came and went very quickly, within 12 hours. I believe I snagged the last one.

It is a lovely knife and is the first in my collection with a magnacut blade. I love the bright Orange Ceracote blade coating which will make it easy to find when dropped.

The only quibble I have is that the blade was sloppy loose when it arrived. Easily fixed by tightening the pivot screw but what is going on with Benchmade? This is the second time I have had an, admittedly minor, issue with a Benchmade product. They stand alone in that regard.

Sweet lilttle knife

Great quality build, razor sharp, and that super fidgety. Civivi nailed this button lock!

Love it, great for a first time strop.

The Kestrel is a perfect size for a pocket knife. I have medium to large hands and it gust fits my hand. Great knife. Kevin

This little knife is amazing and stylish. I really like the level of craftsmanship that went into designing it and the wood finish gives it a nice look.

A gorgeous knife with a very snappy opening action. The glossy black DLC blade coating is a lovely touch. Another winner from Kizer

Lovely design and well made, good quality materials and razor sharp but the flip action is much too stiff. Almost impossible to flip it without an exaggerated wrist flip. Not great.

Perfect edc, can take heavy use, well made, wharnie blade in titanium, very fun to use and fidgety

This is not an assisted knife... But a very sharp blade, and handle almost big enough for my hand.

Knife looks and feels really classy, perfect for a sophisticated outing.

Beautiful handle sharp as a tac very nice once again

I recently purchased the worksharp bench stone knife sharpener from house of knives. It comes with a pair of 20/25 degree angle guides to help me obtain the correct edge symmetry when sharpening my knives. I also purchased separately a pair of 15/17 degree angle guides for finer edged knives. They work great. The attach magnetically and can be switched out effortlessly. Great sharpener and excellent add ons. Highly recommend.
