Kershaw Leek Copper (1660CU)
Love the weight and feel of the copper handle, this is my third Kershaw Leek knife, have the regular stainless, titanium and now the copper handle material. I like the copper look and feel the most.

Benchmade Mini Presidio II (575-1)
One could reasonably argue that the words “Benchmade Knives” and “value” reside on opposite ends of the word association spectrum at the time of this writing (Spring 2024), especially with how post-pandemic inflation has driven prices upwards across the knife industry. Benchmade’s folders have always been priced at a high premium because of their exclusively American manufacture and the brand’s cachet, but here’s the thing: I think the Benchmade 575-1 Mini Presidio II offers great value, not just by Benchmade standards, but by more general knife-guy sensibilities as well.
Let me explain. “Value” doesn’t necessarily have to mean “cheap”, and at C$210.99 (at the time of purchase), the Benchmade 575-1 Mini Presidio II is decidedly not cheap. But when I think about what my two bills, one tenner, and loonie get me in the Mini Presidio II, its status as Benchmade’s best bang-for-your-buck folder becomes clear. First, with an 81 mm blade and a total length of 190 mm, the Mini Presidio II is actually a full-sized knife—it’s “mini” only in relation to the Presidio II, which is a large folder. Second, the Mini Presidio II has a particle metallurgy steel blade in CPM S30V. Yes, S30V is an older “super steel”, but Benchmade’s treatment of S30V is widely regarded as one of, if not the best in the market—at least on par with Spyderco’s—and just like with Spyderco’s S30V, I’ll take Benchmade’s S30V over many other companies’ S35VN and 20CV/M390 every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Third, it has textured handle scales made of what Benchmade calls “CF Elite” (basically carbon fiber-reinforced polymer), which offers more strength and rigidity than your standard Grivory scales. Fourth, the folder features Benchmade’s Axis Lock, the original and still one of the best expressions of the crossbar lock design (one of my friends has a Benchmade 710D2 McHenry & Williams, the first ever folding knife to feature an Axis Lock, and it still locks up like a bank vault and has never needed its omega springs replaced in all the years she has owned it). Fifth, and perhaps most importantly, the Mini Presidio II traces its lineage to the original Presidio, a field-proven brainchild of the late Mel Pardue (designer of the classic Griptilian and Mini Griptilian). This design pedigree is especially borne out in the knife’s efficient form and excellent ergonomics: the knife carries well and handles even better.
Genuine value is about more than just materials. A great design can only be further elevated by premium construction, while no amount of fancy steels and handle scales can redeem a poor or mediocre design. The Mini Presidio II definitively stands as proof of the former.

As always, I bow down to the time and thought you put into every review. I second everything, especially the fact that mini does not always mean tiny!

SOG Adventurer LB Blackout 3" (SOG-13-11-01-43)
For what your expecting out of a folder pocket knife. The Adventurer has it in spades. 1) It's a lock back so you're carrying as close to a fixed fixed blade without it being on 2) Unbelievable low price for the knife you receive, fit and finishes are amazing for the price you pay. 3) Hair shaving sharp straight out of the package and it's my EDC since I got it, March 7th, 2024. Since that day it's been my EDC and this bad boy works and still I find it absolutely unbelievable that a company of SOG's reputation put out this knife for so cheap!! But I have to say Thank you to your company and all your staff, because this was my first SOG and I hope its not the last.

Kershaw Fatback (1935)
I have had pocket knives from gas stations of higher quaintly. This thing is junk, I got ripped off, i've spent more money trying to fix it up than the knife has costed and its still trash (KPL lube precision screw drivers, thread lock). The tolerances are off so the blade isn't properly centred, the spring is so weak that it requires equal force to a manual knife. save your self the regret and don't buy this garbage.

The mechanism binds so badly that opening one handed is all but impossible, and the button sometimes requires both hands to depress to release the blade.
Incredibly disappointing considering the price. I have knock off's that function better, and cost 1/5th as much.
