Significantly larger than the original Kobold, the Kobold 2.0 is a great work folder. The thick handle lets a user really bear down without having to worry about the knife twisting in hand. The main attraction here, though, is the 3.6" modified Wharncliffe blade in CPM 4V steel. Yes, it is a non-stainless tool steel so it will require a bit more maintenance to stave off corrosion, but its characteristics are in the Cru-Wear/CPM M4 neighbourhood. And at its price (C$163.99 at the time of writing), I think this particular version of the Kobold 2.0 is a steal given the performance one can get.

The Mini Roach is easily the sliciest folding knife that I have. This thing goes through cardboard like a laser. Its elite effectiveness as a slicer is due to the combination of a thin bladestock of about 2.8mm, a relatively broad blade, a high-ish hollow grind, and a top false edge. The result is a blade that doesn't bind against the material when performing long slicing motions, such as when breaking down large panels of cardboard or thick pieces of closed-cell foam: The hollow grind and the top false edge reduce the area of contact between the sides of the blade and the material being cut, thus decreasing friction.

Ergonomics are decent for the most part, although I would have preferred a slightly more neutral handle shape. The prominent flipper tab can get in the way of certain grips and could be in an awkward spot for some hand sizes, but thankfully, it can be easily removed, requiring only partial disassembly of the knife to access the T6 screw that holds the flipper tab in place on the blade.

Opening action is snappy but not overly strong when using either the flipper tab or the opening hole—the detent feels just right. Closing is ultra-smooth, and the lock-up is solid.

The aggressively textured G10 handle scales provide a lot of grip, though as is always the case with textured handles, this may come at the cost of fraying one's pocket hem.

The Mini Roach is an excellent, excellent cutter, and is a knife I highly recommend.

I wanted something that was designed a little different, and this one fit the bill. Its comfortable in hand. Very sharp. My favorite thing about this knife is the sound it makes when the blade is deployed. And as usual, HoK service is top notch.

Awesome little screwdriver kit. Perfect little edc tool that isn't much bigger than a pen. All the bits you'd need for assembly/disassembly of knives. Would make an excellent tool for a travel maintenance kit.

Great little edc knife. Detent is a little strong, but the blade is super snappy, great slicer. Really good size and weight, handle ergonomics are in point. Only thing that I have an issue with is the clip on the smaller handle. Other than that, this is my third Kizer this year, they are absolutely killing it right now.

Very happy with Kizer Assassin XL as blade is very well center, also tested factory sharpness level average BESS C of 3 tests on my scale was 189 g. The bevel looked steep so I used my precision adjust pro to profile 30 degree angle and got BESS C value to 178 g. I then used my worksharp elite grinding system with X-22 belt, X-4 belt, 12,000 belt followed by leather belt with green compound the leather belt with red compound. Tested edge again and got average of 135 g from 3 tests with standard deviation of 5 g. Knife is very well built.

It works pretty well. The handle gets jammed sometimes and I have to run it under hot water to be able to loosen it if I want to take it off to clean the grater, but it grates well as long as the cheese isn’t too hard

I paid quite a bit more for the Splinter than the price shown on Kizer's site (including conversion) and received the wrong model. The model number (KI3457A2) on the box and the blade are correct but I ordered the blue Splinter and what was in the package was one w/ a matte grey handle scale colour. The knife is good but is not the one I ordered, and is way overpriced.

Kizer tried to tell me that the handles were made of 'splinter' titanium and required special lighting to appreciate the colour. Of course, this is nonsense. I have other anodized titanium handled knives and they require no special lighting.

Only when coerced did Kizer suggest doing anything about this. Bear in mind, I paid the asking price, I did not attempt to pay w/ phony $$; so the seller received payment in full, while I received a version of what was ordered, then was quasi gaslit by the manufacturer.

Kizer offerred to refund the cost or supply actual blue handle scales and I accepted the handle scales; when I received them, they had included the pocket clip but not the backspacer.
I suggest that this type of 'service' is par for the course these days and is indicative of an outfit that is not serious about their work/craft, i.e., they do not care.

I have several Kizer knives but will not order another.
