Kori Artisan 8" Chef Knife (7801-20)
This was a present from my wife - I'm so extremely happy with the knife - it's a beautiful piece of art for my kitchen. The knife, with the short amount of time I've used it, holds it's edge very well and even though it's heavier than the blade I've used previously as my "go-to", it is so well balanced that it's like an extension of my arm/hand.
I'm so impressed that we're going to slowly replace all my other knives with Kori blades over time.

That is amazing and I can totally agree, no matter what kind of collection someone might have, a Kori will steal your heart!

Beautiful knives but without a sleeve to protect the blade, I would expect that for the price.

Very fair, it is very uncommon to see sheaths sold with kitchen knives, though if they were going to start Id recommend starting with fillet knives!

Kizer Coniferous V Black Micarta (V4609C1)
At first glance, the Coniferous V appears fairly non-descript but a closer look reveals some premium touches: the clip-side scale is machined from a solid billet of titanium & the deep-carry stainless steel pocket clip features a well-done non-reflective stonewashed finish. The show-side scale is made of contoured black Micarta featuring a tight weave.
But the real innovation of the Coniferous V is in the knife's inner workings: the "V" in the knife's name refers to the v-shaped cutout in the liner lock leaf spring, which interfaces with a triangular protuberance in the blade tang. This geometry provides an additional point of contact on the lock face surfaces which should, in theory, provide for a more secure blade lock-up in the open position while drastically reducing the possibility of vertical blade play developing over time. Add to that the internal stop pin pressed into the blade tang & what you have is an interpretation of the Walker Liner Lock design that should be stable on both the X and Y axes. I don't think this lock is as strong as Spyderco's Compression Lock and Ball-Bearing Lock designs, Benchmade's Axis Lock, or Cold Steel's Tri-Ad Lock, but I do think it is stronger than your typical liner lock, frame lock, or back-lock, which is more than enough for 99.99% of folding knife applications.
The business end of the knife features a blade made from Crucible's 154CM stainless steel. 154CM represented the bleeding edge of cutlery metallurgy 60 years ago, but has long since been surpassed by modern particle metallurgy steels in terms of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Still, it remains a popular steel for folding knives because it is relatively easy to sharpen, holds an edge for a decent amount of time when cutting abrasive materials, and is reasonably tough. It is probably my favourite ingot stainless cutlery steel to use & sharpen, as far as folding knives go. The blade features a drop-point/spear-point shape & a reasonably high flat grind, which is a good utility configuration that balances "sliceyness" with robustness. This knife will do everything from carving wood to, uh, "process protein", if you get my drift đ
All in all, a great no-nonsense folder, suitable for EDC or work-carry.

SENCUT Kyril G10 Black (S22001-1)
A Ferrum Forge Knife Works design at a budget price, built with quality materials and impeccable fit and finishâwhat's not to like? The Kyril's 9Cr18MoV blade may not be riding the cutting edge of knife metallurgy, but Sencut/Civivi's production heat treat of this particular steel is regarded as one of the best in the industry, and its performance has been compared to quality 440C, packing more than enough edge retention for typical everyday cutting & even light- to medium-duty work knife tasks. The Kyril's ergonomics are good although some minor compromises are inevitable in a knife this light, slim, and easy-to-carry. The knife's detent is perfectly tuned for flipping and blade lock-up is solid. All in all, an excellent budget folder.

Zyliss Milk Frother (ZE990027U)
Hi. This is the second Zyliss Frother that Iâve purchased and both came out of the package with a bent shaft. This means it vibrates and wobbles terribly. I still use my older one, have had it a long time and I LOVE it. The best design except for the shaft. Now what do I do to get another frother that hasnât got a bent shaft? Please reply to ascotty@shaw.ca

Opinel No.7 Carbon Steel (113070)
A spectacular utility knife that keeps its edge and folds neatly. Itâs good for cutting food or whittling small wood. Not heavy duty but itâs not meant to be. I prefer the carbon steel since itâs easier to sharpen than stainless.
