Kershaw Emerson CQC-6K (6034)
The CQC-6K is a sturdy knife, with nice two-toned finishes on the blade. Both open and closed it feels solid. The wave feature deploys the knife easily after a little practice. Thumb disk/screw opening is more difficult, though once the blade is raised by a third, it can be flicked open. Due to the steel back and liner lock, this is a heavy knife and may be better for camping/outdoor usage than everyday carry. The thick and wide blade should stand up to heavy use. I don’t know how it would compare with an Emerson-made knife, but it seems remarkable in this price range.

SOG Pentagon XR OD Green (12-61-02-57)
Much better than I expected. The centering was perfect, and the action is very smooth. The factory edge was done well and the ergonomics lock your hand in perfectly. Also, I actually like the XR lock better than the Axis lock.
My only gripe (if you can call it that) is that the knife carries a bit shallow and there's a tiny rattle from the XR lock when you shake the knife. This isn't a quality control issue, but seems inherent in the lock itself.

Benchmade Bugout Serrated Grey (535SGRY-1)
The steel, edge, workmanship etc is as expected from benchmade. I am disappointed in the degree of flex in the handle. The size and shape and comfortable enough for EDC, and if this will be your only daily knife you could probably justify the cost of of the carbon or aluminum handle with S90V. For $200 I expected a bit more body to the handle.

Sorry this one wasn't a 5 star one for you Jared. My Bugout is probably my favourite for an EDC because of its size and weight.

CIVIVI Button Lock Elementum Dark Green Micarta (C2103C)
A very nice well built knife. The button lock was for me a disappointment. It’s a bit clumsy and a little hard to control.

Spyderco BaliYo Pen Black (YCN100)
it flips, although as a pen it doesn’t write great in terms of ergonomics and a balisong’s its wayyy too light but for value and a fun little desk fidget toy

Shun Dual Core 4.5" Honesuki Knife (VG0018)
Beautiful knife, razor sharp out of the box and holds its edge fairly well. The heel of the blade is very thin for a honesuki knife, but this makes the knife more useful in prepping small items or where needed for more intricate work. Overall a great knife, it only gets a 4/5 because I feel it’s a bit overpriced for a factory made blade. This knife has become my go to for cutting apples, citrus, and ginger amongst other things.
