Ken Onion Rain Paring/Detail 4" (RAIN-DETL-0400)
Really nice quality knife, especially on sale. We own the Shun Ken Onion paring and it has a little shorter blade which I prefer, but both offer the same knuckle clearing utility for chopping etc on a board. Great design, lovely to look at, nice to use. One complaint? The handle is a little slippery so grip well.

Nogent Double Edge Vegetable Peeler Pink (86-01321K)
Unfortunately this peeler does not work, I took 5 strokes at attempting to peel a potato and it only managed to actually peel once. Same when I tried it on a carrot. As well, the blade area is much smaller than other peelers, and it does not swivel. I would be OK with the smaller and the no swivel, but it needs to be able to perform the basic function of peeling.

Swissmar Torre Matte Black 8" Pepper Mill (SMP2001SS)
Perfect size, looks great in our new kitchen. Too bad the grinding mechanism is so inferior. Seizes, screw loosens by itself, doesn't maintain grind size.
