Beautiful Knife, But Unexpected Blade Play
Verified Buyer
Benchmade Bugout M390 Grey and Black (535BK-4)
I was really excited to pick up the Benchmade Bugout in M390 with aluminum handles. Out of the box, the knife was stunning, the fit, finish, and slicing performance were incredible. It cut through everything like butter and felt like a premium piece of gear that would last a lifetime.
However, after just two weeks of light use, I noticed noticeable front and back and increased side to side blade play. For a knife at this price point, that’s honestly disappointing and a bit concerning. I take care of my gear, and I expected better from a brand with Benchmade’s reputation.
I still love how it looks and feels, but the fact that it’s already developing play makes me question its long term durability. I’ll be reaching out to Benchmade to see what they can do about it, because it’s too beautiful a knife to have this kind of issue so soon.

Kizer Mini Harpoon Micarta Brown (1040S7)
The only thing missing from this is gimping on top of the spine. So I pulled out a diamond file and made some of my own. Besides that, I think it makes a fantastic daily carry/ edc fixed blade

Victorinox certainly has a history of knowing how to make a great knife. Although this is the first fixed blade I’ve owned from Victorinox, that statement still stands true. This knife has a nice balance and feel in the hand for a compact blade and they didn’t cheap out on the material for the handle. There’s a good contour and chunky feel to the grip. I’ve got to say that I wish they would have incorporated some texture into the handle to eliminate slippage in certain conditions and perhaps some jimping in the blade spine. It does come with a beautifully polished and razor sharp blade of course. Overall I’m quite impressed with this knife.

compact and easily fits in my pocket. Very sharp and holds its edge. Not a big fan of the bottle opener but it hasn’t been a problem with hooking on my pants.

Spyderco Harpy Stainless Serrated (C08S)
With the steel sides it makes it so I can hand engrave it. With companies going to non metal scales I’ll makes it hard for engravers to find quality knives to engrave You guys do have a few which is great, please keep a few knives for us engravers lol

I hope we can keep a good selection too! The blade is almost always an option, but handle engraving has its own charm!
