The boys all started to ride again after more than a decade away from mx and we went with bumper mounted play/pit bikes to keep things simple , affordable and light hearted. We were having a blast and riding every weekend . The girls were feeling left out . My wife was not interested in learning how to clutch, shift and wrestle a 200+lb dirt bike . While she has plenty of mountain biking experience , just didn’t want a traditional gas dirt bike. The sur Ron ticked every box in what we thought was a good choice. No clutch , lightweight , powerful ,ease of operation. So why only four stars? Mail ordering a $3700 bike that is Out of stock half the time and May have this or that fork is a bit of a leap for me. basic mtb brakes on a machine that weighs 100 lbs vs 30 lb, front fork is just so so. Overall satisfied with the bike and gaining more confidence with each ride. Throttle a little touchy in go fast mode and we did have a whiskey throttle wheelie wipe out in the beginning. This thing makes max torque at zero rpm. Keep that in mind when grabbing a hand full of throttle from a stand still. Beginner mode is pretty friendly to operate and does the job for timid riders. Keeps up with all the pit/play bikes up to 150 cc klx . This thing really shines in the woods and tight single track . Getting just the right amount of time and miles per charge. Getting tired by the time battery is getting low. Around 3 hrs with some breaks and around thirty miles . Go fast mode and aggressive riding could reduce that greatly. Not a toy and should be respected . Fork spring rate is useless for a bigger rider. The bike is about the size of a small wheel ttr 125. Tons of videos and info out there on these things to help you figure out if it’s for you . Tons of upgrades and goodies to make this thing work for most any rider or type of riding. Very capable off road machine over all and would suggest you stop thinking about it and just pull the trigger. Just realize you may need to make some adjustments and spend a few more dollars to get . If your 5 foot 5 and weigh around 125, it’s a pretty good fit out of the box . Would absolutely recommend and/or purchase again .

Works great .I use this on my luna battery when charging.

We’ve had the sur ron black for a week and have more than 50 miles on it so far. We have dirt bikes and usually ride two or three times per week and the sur ron is the only thing that’s gotten ridden since we got it. It was quick to put together and ready to ride in about 45m. It’s been raced up and down the street, ridden in mud on two track roads and about 2 miles of single track. All the neighbors have tried it as well and love it. We waited a day to clip the green wire, which took less than 5m including a small piece of shrink tubing to seal the ends of the wires. This is incredibly fun and as soon as it’s not so cold outside I’m going to take it on single track mtn bike trails to hammer away. There’s plenty of trails so that I won’t run into any bicycles and annoy them. Super fun and a good addition to riding dirt bikes and mtn bikes. It’s its own thing. Gotta ride one to understand how fun it is.

This bike is absolutely perfect for buzzing around the airstrip. It is the right size and has the proper suspension for me at 6' and 190 lb. I previously had bought the Segway X160 and quickly determined that it was really intended for small adults or teenagers.

I typically make short hops where a gas bike would not warm up well. The electric bike is ready to go full power in an instant. It is not overly powerful, but the acceleration is adequate and it handles 10-15% grades just fine. It might do even more but I am too old to find out.

Two minor problems. The bike is supposed to go 45mph, it only does 30mph. I think there may be a procedure to unlock the higher speed but I haven't investigated yet. Also, the schematic shows there to be a switch to turn the headlight off, but I can't find it.

Overall, I am super satisfied with this bike and with Luna's service. You can't go wrong here.

I have been going to Luna cycle for all my E bike motors and parts for about two years now. Their service is fast friendly and they are always just a phone call away for any help you might need.

Right out of the box I took it out on the mountain and let it rip. Minimal adjustment to my weight and riding style. Love it. I might not be good enough to notice the difference between my buddy’s Levo, but I do notice I am faster up the hills, lol.

For the money it's a must have just in case it breaks nice to have an extra one recommended if you're riding all the time

Luna cycle has been great to deal with. All my questions have been answered in a timely fashion and they have always been quick to ship my items. Prices are good too. My cane creek thudbuster is awesome. I wouldn’t ride a hard tail without one. Definitely takes the edge off the bumps.

This bike is wicked sick! I took it to durango colorado and it took everything I needed it to do its fun to mess with ur friends with it they think oh whatever it electric mtb. Three friends have whiskey throttled it not noting about it cut the green wire and let it eat

Riders weight at 200, did I need it ? No but I didn’t like the red spring, it’s a super stiff spring

It was competitively priced and shipped quickly and without issue. I installed the part with fresh grease and have been using it daily with zero complaints. I will do business with Luna Cycle in the future.

This middrive kit was my first ever e-bike conversion and was super smooth to install. I would suggest getting a set of Luna Install helpers as it's pretty difficult to source spacers of this required size. I installed this on a Surly Pugsley and it is a hoot ripping around my private property, even better than my atv!
